Honda back from garage and all sorted but I noticed a little ding with oil mark on passenger door. I know for a fact it was fine when I put it in.

Phoned the manager and got the expected response; ''I'm not aware of that and I'll ask all the guys.'' Like anyone will admit to dinging my car by accident with a carelessly placed wrench or spanner.

Dicks!

Of course it wasn't them, they haven't been anywhere near the car, you the customer are making this up entirely.

You have more chance of getting the queen over for tea tonight than getting a garage to fess up to causing some damage to a car whilst in their possession.

Years ago, 2003 to be precise we purchased a brand new mgzr and, surprisingly it needed some warranty work doing and, as we both worked the mg dealer said they'd come and collect i, do the work and then drop it off for us.

Top service!!

When we got it back I found the n/s front wheel curbed quite badly.

I told the missus as I was dailing the number of the dealership to complain.

On the phone I let rip at the service manager about the damage and demanded that it was sorted out at their cost and asap!!

The manager came out to inspect the wheel and then said he'd had a word with the service driver girl who'd denied doing it but would get it sorted if they could have the car again.

I said ok as long as she didn't drive it.

Car came back with the damage fixed/replaced, washed and polished etc.

Fast forward 10 or so years later and, driving past an mgzr like the one we had I commented on the damage they caused to the wheel and if the service driver got to pay for my new wheel or got "gardening leave" when the missus confessed that she'd done it a few days earlier turning round in the street near us and decided not to say anything at the time OR when I was going mental on the phone to mg.

Oops.

First day of a fortnight off from work - pissing it down. Deep joy.

I sent a Rover 100 for MOT once, they reversed it into a wall, smashed the rear light and then failed it on said rear light.

I rode to work today as it seemed a nice morning, not sure I've got any waterproofs either.

Speaking of garages damaging cars, and in particular wheels, when I had my brand new 15 plate Corsa, on one of the many occaisions it was back in the dealers for yet more warranty work, they repaired a puncture on the OSR wheel, i knew about the puncture anyway, but didnt mention it to see if they actually did their "vehicle visual health check" they always bang on about, anyway i picked it up with warranty work done and puncture repaired, checked when i got home and clearly there was all this white stuff round the tyre and rim from the tyre being on and off, i got a cloth, wiped most of it off, only there was a stubborn white mark which wouldnt budge (the car had standard black alloys so it was very prominent) so i called them up and said their mechanic had scraped the alloy with the tyre machine, they said bring it in next week when your warranty work parts are in stock and we'll have a look, they sent a mechanic whod never been near my car out to look at it, I was expecting the guy to say nah thats been marked by a kerb or something, bear in mind it was a year old 15,000 miles car with perfect wheels, he looked and immediately said aye thats been a tyre machine, its too close to the tyre that theres no way that part of the rim would ever come into contact with a kerb and its too clean, neat and straight to have been caused by anything else, ill let the service reception know and itll get sorted for you.

I honestly couldnt believe it, thought it was going to be a big fight with them, especially considering it was Arnold Shark.

Sounds about right.

I'm off for a week, rustproofed the Landcruiser couple of weeks ago and the underbody guards are still off cos i'm going to change all the transmission oils this week.

That's bollocksed now, it's either raining or blowing a bloody gale or both, gr9.

I need a whole day cos it's got to go up on 4 ramps, both diffs and the transfer box are easy enough but changing the autobox oil is gunna be a right arse cos Toyota, in their race to turn the thing into a Range Rover box of electrics have scrapped the dipstick, so now it's short two wires together in the diagnostic socket and run to a temperature when the dash light goes out in order to get the right level via the overflow plug underneath, plus instead of filling via the dipstick tube its got to go in from the side via a filler plug...effin well played Toyota if i wanted a bloody RR i'd have bought an Ewok.

Changing the oil on the van I noticed diesel dripping off the sump :(

Looks like it's coming from the front of the pump. Pump sounds bloody rattily too.

Pump and cambelt change next weekend then :(

Anyone got a Lucas pump for a DW8 ?

Getting exceptionally fucked off with the astonishingly selfish parking on my street.

I really couldn't give a toss what any of them are doing, but is it too much for them to try for TWO FUCKING SECONDS and park properly in a bay instead of them half arsedly dumping their car wherever they feel like?

It's a tiny, narrow road and tonight there are least eight bays wasted by people parking like cunts. I'm sick of having to wait up until 1 am to move my car into a space after everyone's gone. Combine that with the appallingly low standard of driving in my local area  (you get two choices: bollock shatteringly slow/moribund/drugged up or ton-up psychopath, there's no middle ground) and you might be able to see when after a long day at work I really can't be arsed.

The Leon's picked up several scuffs and scrapes it didn't have when I bought it and it's only going to deteriorate from idiots walking/running/cycling/falling into it because they can't even tackle perambulation without somehow fucking it up.

I'm still not used to people staring at me boggle eyed when I defer to them at roundabouts; I'm no model driver by any means but compared to my neighbours I'm a fucking Roadcraft champion.

Also, cyclists: can you kindly cunt off cycling on the pavements, please? Yeah, cheers. Not going to be polite again - the next one of you who tries to mow me down gets kicked off to receive a Kona Fuckwump smashed into the back of their skull. I DON'T HAVE EYES IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. GET ON THE ROAD AND FUCK OFF CYCLING AT ME.

Watanabe mode off.

Just got sent on a flight for work and got stuck with a middle seat.

The guy next to me was a +300lber and not only had to sit with his legs wide open, but managed to swallow up the arm rest between us with his back fat so I couldn't even see the damn thing to play elbow wars on (who gets the elbow rest).

Oh and he had bad breath and snored.

The stewardess saw me sitting sideways at an angle and gave me the 'you poor dear' look but did nothing about it. Still got another flight before I can get home tomorrow.

Fuck insomnia. Been laying in bed with my eyes shut for the last 3 hours, can't sleep. I feel like garbage, got a headache, my eyes are stinging and I'm all stuffed up with a cold.

In an hour or so I'll either get phoned into work at my 0-hour contract job or I won't. Either doing menial labour while massively sleep deprived and losing the will to live or NOT doing that but being unable to pay my bills because my hourly pay will be dire.

Oh, and to top it off I had to scoff a whole packet of Soothers today to stop my coughing tearing my throat apart and am now afraid of shitting myself whenever I fart as they have a laxative effect on me...

I knew it wouldn't be too long before it started. Someone's just offered me a fiver to deliver an item for them in my van, which is a 45 mile round trip.

What a generous* offer. Did you instruct them to take long walk off a short pier?

Bloody bad timing, rustproofed the Landcruiser couple of weeks ago, then discovered the aircon wasn't working during the following week, they can be prone to leaks from the pipes going to the rear aircon but seeing as i've plastered everything underneath in rustproofing waxes any evidence of aircon dye leaking is now covered.

They reckon one of the shrader valves was seeping slightly so hopefully that's it, however.

It started to absolutely piss it down here yesterday evening, didn't stop all night and the wind has been bad too. You wouldn't believe its early summer would you! sodding country!

Wind was so strong this morning it managed to blow my bedroom window shut, been raining all day and it was cold enough last night walking home that I wished I'd brought a coat. Damn global warming.

It's been cold here too, I've had a sweatshirt on most of the day.

I'll get the Mercury out this weekend, that should give global warming a helping hand!

Thanks for the offer but the XUD one doesn't quite fit the DW8.

From memory the pulley doesn't line up with the belt on the DW8.

How long are Lucas pumps supposed to last ? Last one lasted 223000 km, the one that's on now and about to fail

is now at 407000 km, I think it came from a 100000km Xara so this one's done 284K.

Is that the life expectancy from a lucas pump ?

Soz. This should really be in stupid questions...
