I think I will, I just don't know if the can do owt with it being on Tesco's carpark?

Not sure on the law, but the highways act applies as it's publicly accessible so could well be the same for litter.

Saw some dirty b*stard dump a bag full of rubbish out of their car before they left the parent and child spaces at tesco. You know, the spaces just metres away from the shop and at least 2 bins

I know I have said I don't agree with public shaming but it turns out I got it on dash cam and I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempted.

I hate litter.

Public shaming is only really questionable for two reasons: the potential backlash may vastly outweigh the original transgression, and there may well be mitigating context which will be missed/ignored by the majority. In this particular instance however: 1) Publicly shaming a gormless mouthbreathing cretin for dumping rubbish is (sadly) unlikely to lead to mass vigilante action ruining their entire life existence, and 2) There is literally no context or extraneous detail which could possibly justify their actions.

So yeah, basically flood as many social media platforms as you possibly can. And send the footage to the council/Tesco/the Queen. I imagine 'the police' already know...

One reason I biked home from the pub today across the fields was the journey there was down the litter strewn B1177. The verges are thick with Macdonalds cups and plastic bags of crap thrown from car windows. The village sometimes organises a litter picking session, but I think it encourages the miscreants, castration might be the only answer.

It's the same round here, and one day I'll spot the bastards who park up down the country lanes and lob their McDonald's stuff out of the window. There will be a garden full of emptied bin bags awaiting them on morning. To be fair, where there's been mass tipping of stuff I've reported it to the local councillor and he's organised it being collected, plus if I've been driving round the lanes I'll often stop and pick the bigger stuff up and drop at the tip. As said though, maybe it just encourages the lazy bastards to carry on fly tipping. When I retire I'm going to seriously suggest the council give me tip permits for my van and go round the lanes tidying them up. As sad it sounds, I'd actually quite enjoy doing it.

That's not sad at all. I've been involved with litter tidying in the past at beaches, unofficial campsites, hillwalking paths, etc.

There's someone near where I live who takes their dog for a walk on the country road, dog does it's poop, and owner picks it up in a doggy bag. Fine.

But then the owner hangs the doggy bag on the nearest fence post and leaves it there.

I've had the opposite though! I always message the seller and ask exactly where they live, as Ebay generalises the location, so if it says 'Oxford', it could be either 4 miles away, or 30 miles away on the gloucestershire border or summat... Same with 'Slough, it could be just the other side of Maidenhead or fugging Heathrow

"The ad says where m8, Oxford...'

"Yes but where, you could be 4 miles away or 24"

"Ah, OK, 'insert town here'"

"Thanks!" Then never bother as it's invariably the other side of the car hating town centre which is only 14 miles away but takes 3 1/2 hours to get to and fuck that for a £5 hoover!

Mine says Ripley Derbyshire on it. And even if you just see Derbyshire it's a long way from bloody Woking!

Thats a great idea cav and if it keeps you active in retirement its a bonus, pride of areas is whats lacking these days i think thats why people think its ok to dispose of their crap everywhere.

Heading into Newcastle this morning,Mrs V8 is driving so i'm just watching the wildlife. The amount of drivers that still use the phone while driving,1 with a fag in one hand and a phone in the other.

A woman in a qashqai,applying her makeup.

I do like the drivers that are happily singing along to what ever they are listening to,but these new centre dash tablets/display i find distracting and i have them in 2 of mine.

I'm confused

There's a web site for that. Though this man has never needed it.

Litter update.

I tried the council and a mildly dramatised version of the outcome is that the council aren't bothered and Tesco have apologized and will feed back to the trolley collection staff to do better at litter picking :| *sigh*

Now you've read the irritated TL:DR version above, here's the full details!

I emailed the council last night after seeing a bit on Google about littering laws applying on publicly accessible land (as mentioned above). They sent an email back this morning to say they had sent my enquiry on to Tesco customer services.

A dude from Tesco just phoned up to apologise! I quickly interupted to say I didn't expect an apology from Tesco and that the blame lay solely with the lady* that did it, but he went on to say it was a known problem and he would feed back to the store because he knows the trolley peeps should be going around picking things up. Once again I reiterated that I had no complaint about the staff at the store and it really isn't for the trolley peeps to be doing, that this particular store has more than enough bins and the customer was the only person in the wrong.

So that's that. I just hope that the staff don't get a bollocking for letting the carpark litter build up or something stupid like that!

What grinds my gears is people uploading photos on various picture hosting websites rather than the servers of the forums themselves.

Many a great thread has been ruined when the pictures vanish after the host sites fuck you off.

I had cause to look over my Photobucket account today - I now realise why I stopped using it, because I had three photos open and a gallery list but the browser was using 1.7GB of memory to do so...  That said, the links to the photos are still valid - being able to directly upload photos to forum servers has been a relatively new thing, in my experience.

Yeah, forums letting you upload pics is a newish thing, 3rd party photo hosting used to be the only way to do it.

Forum hosting has its own issues - I keep finding interesting threads where the pics are hosted internally and are only viewable by members.

Haven't noticed a particular problem - examples?  Use PM if you prefer.

Bastard man, I've just knocked a bottle of hendo's out of the cupboard and it landed on the ceramic hob and smashed the shit out of it halfway through cooking a massive great pan full of corned beef hash. Felt like a right big man about 2 months ago telling the bloke from AO "No thanks mate, I'll take my chances without your insurance, I'm hardly gonna drop a cooker down the bog in the pub"

Bread sandwiches for tea then FFS

New hob arrived on the 19th of Jan. Fitted straight away.

Lasted 11 days. I've just bust it in the exact same place, this time with a beer bottle that fell over.

I know technically it's not funny but it is! :-)
