Our insurance is 312 quid a year, so in comparison to what's going to be a 2k claim it's good value. and this is what we have insurance for after all. still a pisser though, just the hassle of it all..

It's bollocks. They put mine up for a no faulter when my car was in a car park and I was at work and some twat crashed into it.

I used to know an insurance bloke on another forum, he gave us figures that proved what I just said.

I know a bloke down the pub.

I also know a bloke who is a statistics boffin and has done work for the insurers. You can bend the stats to suit any agenda.

At least bandits have the decency to wear a mask and strippit shirt.

If Hooli is correct, you should have been up the pub

[touchpaper]Some would argue the Public Ownership is none too effective either[\touchpaper]

Purely from a devil's advocate perspective:)

And many of those happen to be making a big fat wad of cash out of arguing that at the expense of everyone else.......

Privatisation doesn't work.

Depends, works great for owners, not so good for users.

Depends on the industry/service in question.

Wife came home from work in wednesday saying the wing mirror had been bent backwards at her work. She was chuffed to tell me she had managed to get it back pointing in the right direction and it seemed undamaged. I saw the car for the first time today and what she hadn't noticed was a massive fuck off dent right on thhe swage line near the mirror.

Seen on cctv today a parent at her school dropping a kid off seems to be the culprit. Only had the car 4 months and to say I am pissed off is an understatement. How can people just drive off like that?

Posted

Because too many people just don't give a shit about anyone else.

It'd be a shame if you accidentally* opened the door of your old car on there's at a supermarket.

This morning I saw a lady pick her recycling bins up, and just look at all the rubbish that had spewed out all over the road before driving off. I hope she had an easy day at work, as she'll be busy this evening or weekend picking all the rubbish back up from her garden.

I presume her bins had blown over. Picked up said bins but left their contents spawn over the ground.

Well that was fun* getting to work, Bambi on ice would be a good description. Spare set of rims and 6 snow tyres required me thinks

I'd just leave the Panther6 at home in the winter.

Yes.  A surprisingly simple and logical deduction, isn't it?

Went to garage to get car out (3 miles away). Opened garage. Closed garage door again. Went home.

Forgot the fucking keys again!

It's going to bodyshop tomorrow for holes to be cut... I am worried.

It's not too late to sell the vents again.

Think of it as a reward for defensive driving.

My car was written off in a car park while I was at work. I still get the 5 years of increased premium. Perhaps I should try defensive parking!

I see Cavecraft has the same thing.

That's a bit drastic, rather than go cutting holes in it just to get in, couldn't you keep the spare key on the keyring for the other car?

Same thing, car hit in car park at work whist I was in office. 5 years of paying roughly £30 more per year on insurance.

Asked direct line who the idiot was insured with if they would stump up the difference. They said no as direct line don't charge extra for not at fault claims. Shame they were a damsight more expensive than the cheapest quote on comparing meerkats.

Also had the cheek to say they were responsible for returning the car to pre accident condition but not my circumstances. Really wish I'd pursued that further now.

I've let another forumite down at excessively short notice, like a complete and utter arsehole.

Van is fucking around again - loss of power intermittently under load. Guess the crank sensor is dirty again

Was thinking about keeping it too, might not bother with the ungrateful arse.
