Today I suffered a brutal, tragic injury to my pizzle and plums.

Like a fucking Laurel and Hardy sketch I fell through this rotten floor with one leg either side of the joist.

So now I am sitting here with a bag of frozen chips (I am a fatty, I dont have any frozen peas) wrapped in a towel  wedged between my legs.

Sons phone story getting curiouser and curiouser. Found out today from one of the Dads that my lad is being bullied by three total bastards. Rumour is they nicked his phone to use it and gave it back at the end of the day fucked.

If the evidence can be gathered to prove that, they have cost me much wonga. School has been informed and are taking action. Better be good and consist of an apology, an undertaking from the three kids to leave my son alone and a cheque for the phone repair.

Also makes sense of why his swipe card has numerous entries for three bottles of chocolate milk (which Parky Jr hates). The fuckers have been nicking his swipe card to buy themselves snacks.

Very very angry indeed. Want to go Ezekiel 25:17 on these fuckers but apparently there's a by law saying I can't....

it's very easy to get really worked up with things like this (I know I would) but try to work with the school, chances are they will know these kids are scumbags and be looking to sort them anyway. Speak to the head and make it clear that you want to be informed at every stage of what is happening, also point out that you are happy to work, with the school to sort it out and can help with any information they need. Don't go in all guns blazing threatening to get the Secretary of State/ local paper/ arnie involved as most heads (in my experience, which is a good few) have rather large egos and will just shut down and ignore you if you do. Remember that you are the victim, play on it big time if needs be.

I mentioned earlier and elsewhere that a cover on my bumper has gone missing. It's about two inches wide and just covers the bolts that hold the top trims on the bumper. So I have tried to get another...

£70!

Plus postage.

Fucking ridiculous!

I have just bought a s/h one from eBay for a still ridiculous £28 but better than £70!

Cheers Tamworth. Will be working with the school and following accepted protocols to the letter. Not going to lose my job/Liberty over these little shits.

Cheers for the advice. I have calmed down. Bit and the school is well aware of what is going on now. Seeing GP not a bad idea either and particularly like the comment about the school failing in its duty here. Will keep that up my sleeve if it escalates.

Noticed last night that Jr is losing a shitload of weight, stress is really showing on him and I am not ignoring that.

I was bullied mercilessly at school (fat kid) so was nice easy target and yes I know the long term effects of it. Either way the Battleship Parky is at action stations, the guns are manned and we are ready...

If it was my kid, I'd take him out of school for his health and well being and tell the school he isn't coming back until it's sorted.

I think the schools plan is to keep the good student in school, and get the shit students out of the way for a few weeks. But all options are on the table.

Ben got bullied when he was around five or six. The little fucker stabbed him in the hand with a pencil. I appeared early one morning with Ben and we waited in the playground for the little darling*. I was dressed in my biker garb, Arnie lookalike at the time. I whispered in the little cunts ear that if he ever went near Ben again I would rip his fucking arms off. It worked.

My wife is now talking about doing a first aid course so we know what to do if it happens to us.

Good plan.  Maybe work would pay for a similar course for you, Trig?  Often means a financial bonus, too.

Got given a shit TV (really is shit: Technika). Stone dead, not that old. A cursory examination revealed two fat caps, which I replaced for pennies. The telly now works. The grump? : nobody fixes anything anymore, people can be really wasteful. (Although I don't wish to appear ungrateful, either)

It's not always that people don't get them fixed it's that you can't get them fixed.

I took a lamp that had blown to a place that had signs outside saying they fixed stuff. Bloke inside looked at me likens was mad.

Got the old "it'll cost more then it's worth to fix it", I don't give a shit just fix it, he wouldn't....

A lamp and he couldn't fix it? Wow.

There are people out there who can fix things though. Problem is there aren't enough people wanting stuff repaired to make a living out of it any more, which is why I started with cars instead.

Wot SOC said. This wee shop was in our town for decades. The man has now retired. He did all sorts of repairs: TVs, VCRs, car radios, toasters, even early computers. He had his retirement bash at the yacht club, and in conversation he said to our assembled company "Time for me to retire anyway, but consumer goods are proportionately cheap these days, people just buy new ones."

It seems commercial customers are different. The stuff we get sent for repair at work is sometimes hilarious.

Bare power distribution PCBs off buses, with 3 inch holes burned through the middle of them.

CAN node units with huge holes corroded through the 3mm thick cast aly casing - insides with handfuls of aly flakes floating about, then they soaked the thing in diesel to try and "get it going again" before sending it to us for a £100 repair.

Last year this turned up:

With the attached note "VOR! Please Repair ASAP". The entire thing had been underwater by the looks of it. I got it going though, you'd never have known by the time I was finished.

Oh, it is worth fixing stuff - I helped create a repair centre that fixes upwards of 2000 computers, tellies, games consoles and tablets a day. Definitely cheaper to cart them halfway across the country, fit bits (usually out of warranty, so not paid for my manufacturer), test it and send it back. Stepped up the component repair so caps were where we started, moved onto USB ports and simple connectors, then bought some ultrasonic cleaners and reflow ovens, I left a while back but last time I visited they could rebond contacts onto LCD panels to fix lines on screens etc. Average cost of repair on a telly is about £150 all in, including transportation, where average cost of a telly is £700+

Nothing is funnier than turning up an air reflow torch to max and watching all the components on a PCB fuck off to the opposite corner.

Spent an hour this evening doing an oil change and replacing the alternator belt on the Multipla.

Sump plug WILL NOT come out, I even cut a groove in it to chissel it off. It was only off 6 months or so ago. OIL CHANGE ABORTED.

Got the old belt off, it was absolutely trashed with bits hanging off it. New belt is too short. THANKS CARPARTS4LESS.

Waste of frigging time. Again.

Today I was stripping a surface mount massive FET off a scrap board to reuse (they don't make them anymore) so I had the airflow and heat on full bore, It was taking ages so at the time I was on the phone to a customer. I managed to fire a load of capacitors and stuff off the board which is to be expected, but they all went in one go and landed onto my bare arm, where they all stuck fast because they were covered in (sticky at 300c) PCB lacquer. Anyway the bloke had a sense of humour and realised I wasn't calling him a "fucking warm bastard"

Carparts4less is Euro Wrong Parts with even more fuck ups and no store to moan in - might be 10% cheaper but you pay for it in fucking about

To be fair I've used them loads and this is the first time this has happened.

I had to use a 2ft breaker bar on the Audi a2 sump plug. Even the I was just about hanging off it. Never had that before

the rank taxi needed a 3ft 1/2" drive breaker with a piece of exhaust slipped over it (about 6ft total length)..

no earthly need for it to be so ticht

What would be the likelihood of getting an original PS3 working again?

It's got a blinking light and I took it some a e who were meant to have reflowed it and all that but if it turns on it goes off after about 2 minutes.

It's a common problem for all the early one but the guy in the shop that did it had it for months and is supposed to have tried to fix it twice but I don't trust him to have done it right in the first place

I used to do domestic appliance repairs in a father and son shop.  Amount of repairs done for just a few quid that were never collected put the old fellow off doing them.  He even took one to the small claims court just for the experience (and won).  I worked for his son and had a lot of I'll come and collect it even though I don't want it repairing, after a couple of months (usually microwaves) would end up on the back of the scrappies van.

That reminds me of the first electronic device I managed to fix by myself, several years back now:

post-5223-0-47795400-1454716854_thumb.jpg

It was a cheap 1 kW inverter which when connected to a TV (CRT...showing how long ago!) started getting rather warm and smoky. There were several FETs on the output side which had evidently been passing too much current, presumably from the start-up surge. When I showed them to an old electronics guy he just nodded and muttered something about them living up to their nickname of Fire Emitting Transistors...

Been a bit fucked up this week.

Sat down last Saturday evening, with our new Basset pup to watch "The Wee Man". Was on call but it had been quiet so I took the chance to switch off and have a decent night in. About 20 mins in the phone went  and the wife answered, - it was no2 daughter in absolute hysterics, ten all of a sudden the wife jumped up and was in hysterics too, she had been in an accident in her car- I got that much so went to get shoes on to go and see what was going on. After a minute I realised she'd hit a pedestrian and it was bad.

We jumped in the van,not quite sure what was going on, and got to where the accident happened, a fast A road with nothing really around, pitch dark and pretty much straight for half a mile or so. We couldn't get close because of all the emergency vehicles, and our daughter was in an ambulance. We then found out that the pedestrian had sadly died. We don't know the circumstances why the man was there, but the police did tell us they had been looking for him for a time. Daughter was taken to hospital as she was in a terrible state, but no real injuries apart from cuts to her hands and face and debris in her eyes. All I kept hearing her say was, I didn't see him, When I stopped I thought a deer had jumped out. She said he was dressed completely in black. The police took a short statement, breathalysed her and told us that there was nothing she could have done and no charges are expected to be brought, although they are still appealing for witnesses,as seemingly 2 cars drove round and went on their way. 2 other cars stopped and gave statements at the time.

Got sent to the place where her car is being held through other work, and was left dumbstruck when I saw the car. She's TPFT, so insurance aren't interested, not that it's important just now. She's been given sedatives by the doctor as she can't sleep,go in the car or be in the dark. We've not really seen eye to eye for some time for various reasons, but this is just torture to see her so messed up. The Police haven't said so in as many words, but I believe it was a suicide. So many mixed emotions, and it's got to me too- as I drive that road and many others like it in the area every day, and keep thinking about it.

Shitting Nora BC, that sounds hideous, I'm very sorry to read that. I hope your daughter will be OK.

Fuck a duck. A friend of mine hit a pedestrian once on the Aston Expressway. He doesn't talk about it much but I know he took it pretty hard.

I hope no 2 daughter will be OK in time.
