Ive decided to fix my water leak issue a different way this year, since my stripping of the interior gave me no help last year...

I leave this wetvac in the boot, and every so often at lunchtime I will vac it all dry... If it gets really bad Ill cut an access slot in the carpet!

I might go hunting for a hole, its all wet again and its not rained much, but there's lots of surface water about

Rear speakers AND door pockets? Swish. Mine hasn't got either. But having said that, I haven't got a boot full of water either, so probably shouldn't complain.

I always wanted kids, and it's been a blast. Obvs. not always plain sailing, but the ups always outweighs the downs. Had an epic day with our two today.

I love children, but I couldn't eat a whole one. (Which bread was that advertising?)

Family friend had a massive stroke a few days ago and is completely paralysed at the moment. He was in his 50's and very active so it came out of nowhere. Both my remaining Grandparents are getting pretty frail and it's made me realise this is probably the last Christmas I'll have with both of them .

Just out of interest, can an employer refuse leave if something non-fatal were to happen?

Yes, but a good employer would allow it on a case-by-case basis.  A really good employer would keep paying you...

Just my opinion but if an employer doesn't have the compassion to let people have time off work when relatives/close friends are in severe medical dire straits, they shouldn't be allowed to employ people.

Wrong thread.

Reciting Sweet lyrics belongs in the "Guilty Pleasures" thread. :-D

It depends how many employees have taken the piss out of the employer by taking a week off at zero notice cos their great aunt has an in growing toe nail !

That's it. After 35 years of avid following I have decided that F1 is officially a load of shit.

I have turned it off in favour of doing a pile of ironing. If a diehard like me prefers ironing to racing then I can't see how it has more than five years left in it.

Sodding front window is leaking

SSeen there's a crack in the lintle outside in the same place but look at that shit job on the sealant. Been there years and I've never looked at it

U R DOIN IT RONG. Sack the race off but watch the gossip bits before and after, works well here. I think I need Spa or Monza for a visit next year before they sack the course off too, but I would actually like to visit on a Friday when you can mooch, and watch the race at home. I might be odd.

I pretty much have up when the BBC lost full coverage of the F1. I've watched the odd race since but the racing is terrible, any move that doesn't come off sees the stewards crying like babies.

Tbh, even touring cars and wrc are rubbish these days.

Had yet another no-show for the Master van today. I spoke on the phone to this one yesterday and he repeatedly assured me he wasn't "one of those Gumtree messers" and that he'd be at mine this morning, but he nver showed up.

That's about 15 messers so far.  I'm beginning to think the van is cursed.  Maybe bub2006 once sat in it or something.

"Oh, that's great you're not a messer. You won't mind giving me your debit card number then will you, I charge any messers £25 for a failed viewing but as you're not a messer, you'll be fine. So, the long card number when you're ready please....."

Still hearing that miserable toss "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran in public places regularly, where I can't get to a place where it can no longer be heard. I can't stand his music anyway, but I have a particular hatred for that whiney hipster bullshit ballad.

It came out 14 months ago, isn't that decades by throwaway pop music standards and therefore everyone should have forgotten it exists by now?

Not aware of that particular song. The one I have to make some effort to avoid is that pile of wank "I wasn't expecting that".

Whinging pish

"Wasn't expecting that" is on a similar level of irritation.

Think yourselves lucky if you don't know it! I wish I could say the same.

I had Radio Newcastle on in the scorpio earlier, they read out a request which said "Some Ed Sheeran, or maybe something good" then went and played "Wasn't expecting that".

I put classic on instead.

Funnily enough hearing it on Radio Newcastle about 20 mins ago was the source of that rant!

I suppose it was a break from them talking about the colour of the Scottish away kit and other dull football related talk that's on ad nauseum.

Very annoying when you want to sell something. It wasn't me though who sat in it.

3 hours again on the car today. I got the steering wheel off (after another hour fucking about trying to get the airbag off, turns out the clips are totally different to any other VAG airbag I've ever done). Took all the bloody cowlings off etc etc, clocks out. Swapped in the new indicator stalks with cruise control function, linked up 6 of the 7 wires that needed to be run to the brake lights switch and the body control module etc. The 7th wire though. That goes to an "electrical distribution unit" that I didn't recognise.

90 minutes later I find it. It's mounted on the bulkhead. Right at the fuckin top on the inside. In the way of it is the body control module, the plastic frame that holds a load of relays, the accelerator pedal, a big bit of aluminium that supports the dash and about 200metres of wires.

The only way I'm going to be able to get to this is to take the whole dashboard out. Of a 2005 VAG car, at the side of the road outside my house where you can't leave the car open or walk inside for a second or your tools will all be gone by the time you come back.

I wouldn't think twice about doing the job in a garage but there's no chance of that outside here at this time of year. FFS, £89 wasted I suppose.

Chucked a big bag of my dad's old imperial spanners/sockets/etc into metal recycling at the tip. They were properly old quality stuff as well.  :-(
