And what's JFBI?!

Just fecking buy it

I think that Chaseracer has seen you at work in Albert looms and believes that they won't have enough Vectras for you to get a sump off in one piece given your direct approach to car dismantling.

P.s. a screwdriver and lump hammer may be the wrong tool combination for the job.

Now listen here them ford focus door mechs where already broken,I thought considering they already where knackered I'd use them as practice.........

Grump today is that I just heard that work are looking at making another round of redundancies.   We had one lot over the summer and I kept my job and thought it was all over for a while but they have started another lot.

The real worry is that if I lose my job then my visa expires so we would have to leave the States within a few weeks probably not enough time to find a new job in the current climate.   Obviously this would be a real PITA with the kids in the middle of the school year, house to sell, cars to sell, etc.

I've got one:

One of the people we work with decided to be horrendously rude to a very difficult client last week, during what was a pretty fraught recording session... Not on, really. Either way, these things happen from time to time so after smoothing everything over with said client, I made a mental note not to use that person again, at least for a while.

Anyway, today, the cheeky fucker decided to write an e-mail complaining about 'their treatment' and how they had been personally aggrieved by the whole thing.  Was somewhat satisfying to throw the whole thing back in their face and tell them to fuck off and never darken my door again.

Still, I hate having to write things like that - I'd much rather be thanking someone for putting up with a heap of bullshit and working out a way to repay them.

They're almost in the same league as these

The heater resistor that I fitted to my sister focus has lasted about as long as a roman candle.

If something is 25% the price of a genuine part it's cheap for a reason - it's utter wank.

I don't think it's quite as drastic as pack your shit and get out in a few weeks, but still no laughing matter if you end up in that position... I would get myself down to see a local immigration attorney as there may be something that can be done.  I would also be looking for work right now, before any decisions are made that will affect you.  I don't know what job you do, but it's a big old country so you might be surprised what's out there - it'll be a bit harder for you as you will need your new employer to sponsor you, but still worth a shot.

The other option is to buy your own small business (if that's possible) - I know of a small mechanic's shop for sale in California, he specializes in old British tat, but it might be too much money and you might not fancy the left coast.  if you get a really good immigration attorney they can probably help you find a creative answer.  In your favour, you are already here legally, and you have a skill that was enough to get you a visa in the first place.

Buy 1 grump, get 1 free.

Ebay is complete shit, flogged £300 all week. At the same time as I'm haemorrhaging money. Thieving twats crawling out from under every rock. Fucking ebay.

Went to kinky girl's, and we went out on the piss a bit. Went back to hers, and she let out a huge stinky Guinness fart. While I was downstairs.

Not sure which is worst.

You've been Dutch ovened. Schoolboy error to be downstairs with a duvet over your head! Akin to going down the mine without a canary. :-D

I've just realised what you meant by downstairs.

Yeah, I assumed he meant he was in the kitchen or something.

That takes me back, haven't heard the word 'guff' for fart since primary school. Didn't think anyone still used it.

Thanks for the advice, I will be speaking to an attorney next week.   Even the 10 days period is not actually to look for a job, just to make arrangements to leave apparently.   That said, you can change to a B2 visitor status and remain for a while and then change back if you find a job.   And there are a few immigrants ahead of me in the line for deportation.

I would love to buy a British car specialist but it's not going to happen in the real world.   I work in oil and gas so things are a little tight at the moment but I can usually find work easily enough so should be OK.

On a brighter note, my missus doesn't drink Guinness!

Catching up on some early news because insomnia. Having read about Paris I doubt I will be going back to sleep.

What can you say? Those poor people on a night out, just dreadful.

This had to go in the grump thread. At the supermarket today there was a Ssanyong ute parked..so what, how many 6 wheeled ones do you see? Grump was the camera was at home. Parked behind it was a previous spot, a very early Corolla, just to annoy me.

May be irrelevant but my first one I paid about £130 for at the dealer.

Second one was £20 with a lifetime warranty from eBay and is identical to the dealer part.

Shame about the Guinness, as you know you really wish she did...

I had no idea that it was a 10 day period - wow that could be harsh, especially if you have put down roots and there is no way to find employment.  Whatever you end up doing, don't get into the "overstayed" category as you will be fucked then, ICE or whatever the fuck they call themselves these days really don't have a sense of humour.

Business ownership might not be as far out of your reach as you think - some places will carry the note for you, making finance a bit easier.  On the plus side it would free you up from the uncertainty of a lay off, but then there are the difficulties that go with self employment.  Worth considering if not for now, then maybe for the future - perhaps get your missus a small business that would allow her to change her status (I am guessing she doesn't have the right to work), then if this happens again, you could stay as her dependent while figuring out the next move.

Don't settle for the first immigration lawyer you speak to until you have had a chance to shop around.  Immigration law is mainly form filling, so you want to find someone who has experience with the more challenging side of things.  I had heard recently that house ownership may be a ticket to a green card - I don't pretend to have any details, or to know if it's fact - I am guessing it would have to be mortgage free, but perhaps something else to ask about.

Texas would seem to be the place to work in oil and gas, but the industry is pretty big in Wyoming, Idaho and in California, so I am sure you'll find something - Good luck!

Ma kicking off again today 'cos I've got my kinky girl. From the rabid screaming I've found out I never do anything for her, I want her dead, and don't think I'll be inheriting the house. Best bit of it is I get all that, then she's my friend for half an hour because she wants me to fix idiot sister's bathroom light, then it's back to I never do anything etc.

Kinky girl says move in with her, which looks the simple answer, but isn't. I can't take 500kg of milling machine to her flat so I'm effectively jobless if I move there, then there's the fun of council tax etc, and she may like me for a night at a time but it's different living together.

FFS, it's a lot of shit I really could do without.

I am worried I may be responsible for this minor pineappling. This car was for sale some time ago, I posted the ad on the blue forum.
