Sitting in tyre locale..... 2x Goodyear 185/60 14 = £125 all in.

Will compare wet/FTP with the Rikens I skipped (screw had kippered it, being on the tread edge and going in at an angle).

I think I'll give that a try Rob, hopefully a polite note will make him park more courteously in future (if he's not a complete dickhead).

I think I've grumped about this before. I rent a garage through a housing association. It's located in a block behind a block of flats that doesn't have an official car park. Fortunately not many of the residents seem to have cars, and those who do are usually quite courteous about where they park them. Either on the road outside or at the very end of the forecourt where they don't cause a problem. Parking is not actually permitted in front of the garages, it says so on the letting agreement.

Except the inconsiderate twat with the Citroen Berlingo. The last three or four times I've gone down there to get the Maestro out or put it away he's been parked slap bang in the middle of the garage forecourt, right opposite my garage. This makes getting a car in or out extremely difficult, it means reversing in at a sharp angle, shunting backwards and forwards and turning the wheels on the spot etc (no power steering). It really is incredibly inconsiderate, all he has to do is park up against the fence and it wouldn't be a problem, but no, he has to dump it right in the middle.

While walking back from dropping the car off I saw a traffic warden putting a ticket on a car so mentioned it to him. Apparently it's outside their jurisdiction as it's not the public road, and I need to complain to the housing association about it.

Now I'm a reasonable guy as anyone who knows me will hopefully agree with, I don't like to make a fuss unless absolutely necessary, but I'm so fed up with this car parking there I have to do something. Trouble is the garage is quite a way from where I live, and I don't know the owner of the car so he might be one of these unreasonable types who thinks he owns the place and I wouldn't be happy if my garage/car got damaged in retaliation for complaining to the housing association about him. I'm thinking about asking the HA if I can swap my garage for one closer to me anyway, there's a newly refurbished block right behind my house, with a nice wide forecourt and because it isn't behind a block of flats, there's no cars parked there.

My garage is the one with the white door nearest the camera, sorry for the shit picture, but it gives some idea of the issue. As you can see, he could quite easily park at the end, or close to the fence.

Selfish. Leave a note, advising its a hassle for you getting in or out of garage. If he does it again then weigh it in :)

Incidentally if you aimed for one bit of his car that's lined up with someone else's garage, you're less likely to be discovered.

I think it's the wrong kind of Citroën to bounce over the fence.

Stupid bint at dice suppliers has buggered me up good and proper. 2 weeks ago I ordered 10,000 white dice. Er, we've only got 3500, we'll send those, more coming in 2 weeks.

It's 2 weeks and 3 days today. Er, when are the other 6500 dice coming? Oh, I just cancelled your order cos you had 3500. We're sold out again, more in 4 weeks when next container gets here.

Just great. Silly season and I've got bugger all white dice. Merry shitmas to you too love.

Also my neighbour is selling a Saxo VT something, I think it's about 2000 or 2001. It's in an absolutely gopping gold colour.

I quite like those gold Saxos. Would he swap for a 306? :-D

He sold it today, according to my missus.

I'd be straight on to the boss having a sulk after freebies, discount or both. I try it on with everything now :-)

Got my estimate - £600!!! Most of that is painting to be honest, the wing is about 70 quid for a new one.

If it was a scratter I would sort it myself but its Wifeys baby and to be honest if i got a speck of dust in the paint finish she would go crackers. At least if its a team of professionals I can't be blamed. For once.

All friendly neighbours are primed and on the lookout......

Just had a revised estimate. Because the car has a dealer fitted stripe which goes over the wing the body shop will need to replace that. Fiat want 250 notes for a piece of white vinyl because they can't sell just the damaged section, just the whole set. Fair enough, but 250 quid for a fucking plastic stick on stripe? Robbing bastards. The most annoying thing is the dealer fitted the wrong one and it was only after arguing in the dealership for 30 minutes that we gave up arguing about it. If they had fitted the correct one (bonnet stripe) that would have cut a chunk off the cost. Which is now (wait for it....)

NINE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX POUNDS......and ten pence (don't forget that)

Better news is one of my neighbours has CCTV of the vehicle hitting mine. It's not my neighbour thank god as I think he is ex Russian special forces!

Van or Mercedes 7 seater drives into street. Carries out three point turn. Stops in front of mine and reverses back about 15 metres. And sits there.

Brake lights go out and the van starts to verrrrrry slowly roll forward. It gathers a little momentum......then a little more....then BANG! Dude makes four attempts to get in reverse, manages to unlock his from mine, and fucks off.

I reckon it's a local minicab or maybe courier. He has done a drop off and driven around to my bit where it's easier to turn around. He has probably stopped to either fill in his job sheet or check a map and not noticed he is moving.

It's going via insurance. Fuck it, you can't get any more of a non fault claim if you tried. Unless I am somehow found liable to parking a taxed and insured car in a place where a total fuckwit can hit it. In which case I will have to start parking my car on the roof. Or the Moon.......

Polite notice but for gods sake don't say who you are or which garage is yours.

If he does it a second time, point out this the second time you've asked politely

The third note should be wrapped around a brick and luzzed through the windscreen. This one should say"you were told.....twice"

Posted

Or to TL:DR that, just smash both his headlights, then leave a not saying 'Told you twice already'

Does he want to replace it with a 306?

If I thought he had money to spare he'd be sitting in a Xantia right now, let me tell you.

Big budget (Mum & Dad's), badly edited and way too long/self important for a calling card, if that was the intention. Love the darts player rings. Verdict: Modern day Nathan Barley. Great find Negative Creep!

Re. Berlingo twat; If two polite notes don't work, remove one wheel and hide it somewhere. If they continue to persist then repeat until either the owner gets the message or runs out of wheels.
