The refurbishment of the house my Mrs. and I inherited a few month ago is getting more and more expensive... Invoices from the electrician, from the plumber, from the painter, from the floor tiler, from the bricklayer and many, many more...

 

And this will only be for the main floor.   Having money to buy, restore and enjoy old cars will be very limited* for the next years. I may even have to sell one or two of my old cars.  Now this makes me really sad now...

It seems exceptionally miserable of them not to stick it on their diagnostic machine. When they are telling you 'we didn't cause this' then surely they are assuming/guessing, if they don't actually know what the fault is. It would havd cost them nowt to plug it in and they would have been able to credibly say why they were not to blame. I think you are justified in calling them wankers.

I once got some stickers with a copy of Mixmag or out of a packet of Shreddies or something or other and one of them said 'Bass Cadet' which I put on my Mums patio umbrella and the other said 'DON'T BE A DICK' which I put on the side of my stereo to remind me, quite rightly not to be a dick. Can't say it worked 100% of the time but it was a helpful reminder.

You can't really go off what stickers tell you to do. I mean, I had one that said 'I'm a friend of Chester Zoo' but I wasn't really. I mean, a proper friend would have asked it out for a pint, or been there for it when fat kids made faces at the giraffes and what not, but I never even wrote to them or called. Thanks for the offer.  Ideally I'd like to get it done before then, if only so that I don't have to take it in for a full retest, but if my mate with the welder can't do it before then I'll have to take you up on it - will let you know.  Either way, feel free to pop in for a cuppa when you're up this way.
