Dad's Funeral today , positives he's going to get a sunny day  ( miracle in Ayrshire in Feb ) and a good turnout

Funeral director is not happy 4 of us are going to carry him ( 3 sons and son in law ) and want to discuss before leaving .... It's going to be a short discussion ...

A wonderful thing to do. I carried my Dad, with my eldest son and 4 nephews. They want 6 but you guys will be fine.

I hope it all goes to plan and may he rest in peace.

my Linux mint lappy fell over a few times over the last few times I tried to use it , turns out the culprit was Firefox ...

once Firefox started it just porked i way thru the processor power up to 100% and stayed there , followed by the ram getting gobbled up  , then the swap space for desserts ..

which resulted in a very unresponsive machine with a sluggish mouse  .... so Firefox got uninstalled ,

it got put back on ..  and  again the same happened  ,

so off it came again and Chromium got installed , which worked ..... no cpu or memory issues , and its extensions worked .

very strange considering it worked for ages !!

I have Firefox, Brave, Chromium and 'Web' on mine.  One is a fairly low spec machine but the one I use most as it has decent sound (through an external stereo amp and speakers.

It does slow down toward about this time of day and I run the cleaners on each browser as I shut them down and then run BleachBit before shutting the machine down for the night.  Haven't sen and changes recently.  I use Firefox for iPlayer among other things.

The other machine is better specced though much older and doesn't slow down with continued usage and is left running for days, weeks sometimes.  Better speakers and internal sound but there is a fault with the headphone output and sounds like it is underwater used with an external amp and speakers.

Firefox has been my preferred browser for decades, since it was Mozilla Browser, before it became Firefox.

Currently on Linux Mint although did use Ubuntu initially and for years.

Been waiting in all day for a supposed overnight delivery of engine bits for the range rover of too many wheels, which still hasn't arrived 🤬

FF updates can make it throw a wobbly fit. I use windows and in cases where the PC starts to  do odd things I use Process Hacker. This is for windows. Here is a list Linux  alternatives.  https://alternativeto.net/software/process-hacker/?platform=linux

It may help solve the issue.

You don't have to go. You could just not go. That's an option

You're talking to someone who intentionally puts himself into the worst/most confrontational situations possible to satisfy his persecution complex, he'll take no notice.

Below is the link to a cheap house on a remote island in the north of Norway. Get some qualifications in elderly care and you have a great chance of getting a job and citizenship and of course change your name and disappear without a trace.

Not much else you can hope for really. My last was my cousins a couple of years ago- cold and frosty but bright sunshine .

My mum had two friend’s funerals this week.  One was 85 and died in her sleep but the other was only 67 and had frontal lobe dementia.  The last one had a woven banana leaf coffin which mum says was lovely and wants one.

Glad to hear this. The sun came out for both my parents too, it helps a bit. I know it’s a lot to process now, I don’t think I have yet but get some rest and be proud.

Still no bits for my engine, I guess when they said 'overnight', I should have asked which night? 😕

Meantime a complete range rover axle I bought with what appeared to be far too cheap postage arrived no problem today.

I don't currently need an axle.......🙄

A lot of things have pissed me off in that publication, so was about to cancel my subscription, until I saw the ad for next months issue, which my Cortina appears to be in, so I’ll wait.

That's disgraceful, I gave up on Craptical Classics years ago when I started reading about rear engined Renault 12s and FWD Mustangs.

When you think of all the young enthusiastic journalists who would love to get onto a 'proper' car magazine and that's the best they can come up with.

No, that's 'Classics World' above, not PC.

Mine too same day.

Only we didn't carry him. Left that to the funeral director to sort out.

Service at the Methodist Church in Bangor.  Standing room only. Burial at St Iestyn's Church, Llaniestyn on Ynys Mon.  Bitterly cold wind but lovely sunshine and a view of the sea and the great Orme in the distance. Followed by afternoon tea for 75 in the village hall, run by the warm spaces group that usually run a Friday Lunch drop in session.

Took this picture on Saturday morning

I know, they're as bad as each other.
They wonder why magazine sales have crashed, at least when some eagle eyed reader notices a booboo on a webpage it can be fixed after the event. These howlers exist for all time.

I don't deny PC has made the odd booboo, but when a magazine's title is dubious from a grammar and punctuation angle it leaves little hope for the content.

And the article inside also titled it as a Mk2! At least PC have a section where they publish mistakes they’ve been called out for. CW have had articles finish mid paragraph and never rectified it, so you never got to read the end.

I think PC is a far better mag but have mostly given up on them all now and rely on here for getting my fix.
