Apparently, Anfield United won something or other.

Get used to it; they'll only be telling us about it for the next 100000000 years or so.

Somebody in the block of flats opposite mine has a dog. They let the dog out and leave it in the yard and the poor thing just sits waiting to come back in or paces the perimeter of the yard repeatedly (to the point there is a clear track), sometimes it is out for over an hour at a time, rain or shine.

It used to be let out with a Shetland or Rough Collie which looked to have had bad hips and couldn't really walk very well but I've not seen that one for a few months. So now this dog just sits outside alone for ages looking up at the flat windows, if anybody opens the back door it darts back inside so it clearly doesn't want to be out there...

I'd be dobbing that in to the RSPCA - quality of life/enrichment issues they tend to take quite seriously these days.

I rarely go to classic car shows, but as i hadnt been to any this year, i decided to book my Somerset in to Elveden show in Thetford forest.

Lovely location, good organisation but why oh why didnt they have a minimum age on entries? Loads of modern sports and prestige stuff, including an 18 plate BMW and Morgan, plus the usual hotrods/VWs/Jags/Stags/MGs/modified Minis meant there was very little of any interest to me. There was one solitary prewar car there, a 1930 Rover, and not including hotrods, about four pre 1960 cars.

I know shows have to move with the times and I'm sure there was lots of modern stuff at shows 20 years ago too, but they had plenty of older cars in attendance then whereas the majority have disappeared from classic car shows now.

I'm sorry, I don't go to classic car shows to look at rows and rows of Porsche Boxsters, MG TFs and modern Ferraris and BMWs. Time to properly stop attending I reckon as the last few I've been to have been like this.

On the plus side, the Somerset got a lot of attention and a few other people were complaining about all the modern cars there, so it wasn't just me!

On the plus side, the photo uploader on this new version of the site is 100% better to use on mobile than the old one was. Uploading photos on the mobile version used to be a right ballache and its easy now (even with my shit Chinese smartphone) so well done to whoever's been working on it behind the scenes, great job!

Yes, please keep taking daily pictures/videos of that poor dog then let RSPCA know asap. Some people are just twats, suspect that that is their idea of it being exercised, or just somewhere it can use as a toilet.

This, times several million.  Truly dodged a bullet by packing in work, it'd have been an absolute nightmare now.

Definately report the owners of that dog. What a miserable existence! Obviously not a cherished pet, just an inconvenience to them. It may give the dog another chance in a loving home, where it is wanted.

Hard to know what you're moaning about, tbh.

I thought they said the best thing to do if you see a bear is to play dad.  Came face to face with one in the woods the other day, now it can ride a bike without stabilizers.

Last night up town was worse than when the races are on.

I had a cracking night out in Chester on Roman Day a couple of years ago, but I can understand why the locals might get a bit irritated with the massive influx of people (and by extension, the increased percentage of twats).

I was a bit miffed that vehicles on the 'Citroen' convoy yesterday included a Morgan Plus Four, a Daihatsu Materia and a Merc Sprinter. Why would you even do that?!

I've seen this on a few 'specialist' runs and it's annoying, but we're talking Citroens here - any of a myriad of things could've gone wrong in between booking and the actual day ;-) From what I've seen, it wasn't too bad an impact, plenty of fine looking beasts made it.

I've booked het XJR for the FOTU - but at the rate bits are falling off I have no idea if we'll make it in that or something else at present.

yep, my bx blew it's head gasket over the weekend.  So there is no way that's getting in fixed in time for my french trip in two weeks.

Still, if I was forced to attend a one-make event in something unsuitable, I wouldn't try to take it on a road run. It's never a nice feeling, but it's a shame to spoil other people's fun as well.

Assume the Jag isn't going to make it to Shitefest then?

CD player in the Galaxy has just died. It has a flicker to the screen occasionally and the red power light is on.

?

Was in the middle of listening to The Black Eyed Peas, which may have been why.

Any ideas? Anyone have a spare CD player head unit?

I have actually put high vis yellow strips on the front of the bonnet ...... they do get stared at !!!  , and they do work , but not noticed by everyone ...

the cashier in the petrol station even commented on them .. I  replied   " its because of the" bad"  drivers around here "

I assumed it was so the good drivers could see you coming and get out of the way ?

I lost my temper rather disproportionately with the owner of the estate agent that manages the house we rent.  Naughty words, slammed doors, the works.  Not entirely sure where it all came from, tbh and while it's not entirely undeserved that I was cross with him, I was rather more cross than I should have been.  I don't know what it was but something just sort of clicked and I couldn't stop myself.  Mike thinks its been brewing for a while, lots of house movey stress in my life over the last couple of years, and of course lots of bad experiences throughout my lifetime when it comes to renting and rubbishy landlords/agents.

Tomorrow we'll see if we can resolve the problem.  It all stems from a lack of communication really, namely the estate agent not responding to us or the landlord to get things fixed.  On the rare occasion they do respond, which is usually when Mike and I have gone directly to their offices, they make all the right noises and then do nothing and afterwards deny all knowledge that we reported a problem.  This is precisely what started happening at the last house and what prompted us to move so I can see it all repeating again which is stress I could very much do without while I'm trying to keep everything under control.

Isn't renting fun?

I'm trying to be a bit healthier/environmentally friendly by swapping my morning can of irn bru/red bull on the way to work for a vacuum bottle filled with fruit juice.

I bought one of these from amazon which is advertised as being 65mm in diameter.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DJPDZVH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I couldn't work out therefore why it wouldn't fit my cup holder until I measured it,

bottle.thumb.JPG.aa6e16ab4746096a735a9f99381c7e14.JPG

You can see in the pic on the far right, even the box says it's 65mm in diameter! I'm trying to find a replacement on amazon but the amount of listings that don't state the diameter is doing my head in.

Any know of a suitable vacuum bottle that will fit a 66mm cup holder?

I had the same trouble trying to find a decanter that would fit in the ones in the Land Rover, in the end I made a compartment to fit in the cubby box.
