Well, I'm not long back from two weeks off-radar with the horses in Carmarthenshite, and I've been out this afternoon getting rained on shoving a new battery in the CX...

I’m here too but 75% of my tools & the Granada are in Bulgaria, plus can’t do anything with it till my garage is built and I move it in there from the barn so the barn to living room conversion can begin.

Focus CC waiting to go into the garage next week for new brakes all round, replacement springs, full service & MoT.

Buick still down with Rob, ABS fault still not sorted after throwing over £400 at it so now going for a pair of new rear hub assemblies to see if that sorts it out so another £300+ bill to come on that one

My local garage that I've used for 20 years and mentioned on here a few times has closed it's doors for the last time. Due to ill health and retirement. Genuinely gutted and not sure what the fuck I'm meant to do now. I trusted them completely and I never even asked them for prices they were that fair. I'm worried I'll be shafted at every opportunity now.

Go and see Andy, Scaryoldcortina  on here. He is only Stanley/Durham way..

+1 on Andy's garage, not the easiest to get to but you could drop your motor off in the morning then take the kids to beamish for a day out while he twiddles the spanners ?

or there's Rocket Garage (surely worth it for the exciting name) in cullercoats which is well regarded by Jim Bell.

Lost my bastard wallet. The bastard thing finally escaped from me. Now its a plethora of telephone calls. Worst thing is, DVLA wabt to charge me £20 to have a replacement licence yet I've lost my wallet so I wont be abel to pay for that until I get my replacement card which won't be until next week.

Sister_Sterling buying me a new wallet on birthday was an omen I think.....

A) I still can't get to grips with this new version of the Beige Forum.

bee) I ordered a new front lower wishbone for the Saab last week. It arrived over the weekend and I was going to fit it today. I've been sent a nearside one (as the MoT fail sheet says that's the knackered one). I got under the car earlier and the offside one is all wanky, so either the MoT station has put the wrong side down or that one has failed as well (I can't find any play in the nearside one at all).

C) Mother In Law is in hospital, delirious with some kind of infection. No MIL jokes here, she's still a bit of a wildchild at 74 and you can have a good laugh with her.

Just been to my lock up to tidy it up.

Opened the door & it looks half empty, there's around 40 alloys missing.

It looks like they've bent the door frame at the top & got on that way,the lock hadn't been forced.

Police gave me a crime number,& that's all.

Tried ringing a couple of local scrap dealers to see if anyone had weighed in a load of alloys, but no joy there.

Brilliant.

The authorities can't see that this is why crime is going up, 1% chance of being caught ,100% chance the sentence is going to be 100 hours of unpaid work , what a joke

I love that the Google Street View car has actually been to Power Line Street, Agege.

Edit: if the part you're selling is for a T25 or a Tuk Tuk you might still be in luck.

What a fucking weekend...……. Torn my tendons above the knee and a tear in my Quad muscle too…… so crutches. Pissed off already after about 20mins of that malarky.

330CI - exhaust blow - can't do it - it's a fucking manual so can't drive it to the garage so I can get under and fit the gaskets.

MR Spyder - can't do it - it's a fucking manual so can't drive it to the garage so I can get under and fit the chassis braces on the way

Golf - can't collect it - can't use a fucking clutch!

Boxster - can't collect it - can't use a fucking clutch!

SON OF A BITCH! - I know - I'll use one of the bader-matics.

Granvia - 120A alternator fuse blows after I for some inexplicable reason, connect the positive first! I'm a tool. Can I get a 120A fuse in Belgium..... Not unless I unbolt one from a local Toyota on the street. Spares and Dealers all fucking clueless. the 'techs' all gormless twats. I even had one pop the bonnet on a more modern Camry and pointed out it uses the same fucking fuse - still no help. Dicks the lot of them!

XJR - exhaust decides it doesn't like being in any way silencing - so now sounds like a 400Ft tall hoover is on turbo mode. Again - local places useless. Ordered bits from NL - see if I can find someone to fit them as I'm as fucking useless as the dealer bitches………

FUCK YOU - HEATHEN EFFIGY OF AUTOMOBILES...………  leg hurts a lot too - but I'm more pissed with the rapid decline of the fleet in 48hrs!

If anyone should face misconduct charges, it should be the most senior officer that knew this was a tactic that was to be  used or being used and did not attempt to stop it.

The police officer who actually rams the little fuckers is just following orders.

I don't want to get into a string them up by the balls type discussion, because criminals on stolen mopeds are a scurge on society, and they need to be stopped.

But maybe this sort of thing needs to be legislated in parliament, rather than one police force deciding to bend the rules.

If society decides that helmetless, scroates are fair game, then change the law and make it a thing we are all allowed to do.

I've had enough of my job.  I've stepped up recently due to staff issues and they've been supportive.  Until last week when there was a communications cock-up and it left me very upset and angry.  Senior managers haven't got the faintest clue that they cocked up until my colleague points it out to them.  No apology, no shits given.  They're relying on me staying here for a couple of months more to fulfil the extra I've taken on but I'm not under obligation to do so.  To cover me, it would cost them a lot of money and I'm only being compensated 'by the book', too.  Full-time cover would cost them thousands and they're getting away with a couple of hundred.  They've probably forgotten that they're only entitled to a month's notice from me - most others are on two months.

If I find something else, I'll call their bluff and leave them in the shit.  I don't owe them anything.

It was only after being made redundant that my boss realised the little work I did could not be understood by anyone. Lol

I recently met a lad that had written various makros to make his job easy, but nobody actually knew, and he wasn't telling them his secret.

When he went on holiday for a week, his stand in was doing 12 hour days to keep up.

Hilarious.

My job is like this! I put maybe 30% effort in but it's the 10% of the time when something happens that no one else knows how to even start looking at it lands on my desk and is sorted within half a day the old manual way, rather than the macro tool that broke it in the first place.

Its why i get left alone

There are certainly things at my job that only I know and for what they pay me, they're unlikely to find anybody else that can figure it out.  I'm... overqualified.  But also struggle with mental health issues and until recently have been excellent.  They're also a very stable employer and I've got a strong union.

It's a tough one.  But I'm not going anywhere, I'm sick of not having any of my own money and they've insulted me in several different ways lately.

There's a difference between stringing them up by the balls and letting them get away with it because they know that police won't touch them if they don't have a helmet on or whatever.

There's a video on YouTube of a bloke in a Transit van ramming a BMW which appears to have a family in it - disturbing stuff, until you find out that the driver of the BMW had tried to steal the Transit at knifepoint, stabbing the driver's mate in the hand in the process, and that a new "tactic" used by those who commit vehicle crime is to take their (or someone else's) kids in the car with them because they know the police won't ram a car with kids in it.  There's no easy answer, but something needs to be done about these "get out of jail free" cards.
