Flipping useless disorganized bloody corporate hotel shuttle services.

 

Two weeks ago, turned up at arrivals, walk to ground transportation hub, look for bus in Holiday Inn livery, tell them we're looking for the courtesy bus to said hotel, are cheerily waved on, and taken to hotel. Nearly die several times en route...but that's Miami traffic for you.

 

Today, arrive at airport, drop rental car off (sad face, bye bye Pathfinder SL, you'll be missed), walk to same place and attempt to board same bus.

 

Met by obstructive sweary driver who says we need to phone the hotel to arrange pickup...useful as we have no phones (we've already dropped everything at the airport, and handed the US phone we'd borrowed back last night). Also zip in the way of working payphones found after hunting for 30 minutes.

 

Went back into airport to ground transportation info desk. Utterly unhelpful, directed us to one of their partner lift share type deals. After waiting for 45 minutes, we gave up. Eventually got a cab. $25 lighter for the sake of a 5 minute ride. If it didn't mean crossing a major highway and being like 30C out there I'd have just walked! Oh... having no means of navigation was an issue as well.

 

Should have taken 20 minutes. Wound up taking nearly an hour and a half, and I'm now thoroughly pissed off. One of the main reasons we picked this hotel as a stopover point was that it was convenient and had the complimentary shuttle.

Oh the joy of changing a fiesta clutch single handed, job has taken a week on and off as my back had a spazattack. Could I shite get the box back on, the feeling of relief when it popped into place after some serious contortions and resting it on my chest. I'm somewhat disappointed, but I've realised I rather like Scotland, so moving that far away would probably have been a bit of a pisser.

Don't blame you. Just passing Birmingham at the moment on the way to Nottingham and it reminded me how grim it is. Some of the town's around Brum are alright but still suffer from high population density, so heavily built up, packed roads, plenty of idiot drivers and not a lot of greenery.

I've literally 4 minutes ago just sold one of those! Yep, hateful, lasted 5 minutes before being facelifted into the DC41 without any of the flaws the 40 had.

Bloody hotel promised us a refund last night, then pissed us around this morning claiming it was impossible. Will keep fighting that one, but had an airport shuttle to catch so had to leave it at the time.

 

Got to airport, machines couldn't check us in. Yay. Wait 45 minutes in queue, get told we can't check our bags all the way through...have to collect them again at Atlanta and go back through security all over again. Yay.

 

Bloody travel. Not messing around with this again any time soon.

Oh crap. I accidentally hit someone at about 5mph in the new purchase today. Wasn't expecting everyone to stop quite so quickly. Unfortunately the brakes aren't as instant as the Xantia. No damage visible and I have photos, but it's knocked me a bit.

Could have been worse of course.

Its simple...I just want a big red button to press that electrocutes whoever I am talking to via internet or telephone. I want to be able to just press this button and zapp the piss out of whatever cunt hundreds of miles away is annoying me at the time.

I'm sure there will be a market for one, however until there is my solution on the phone is to say "can I just stop you there" and then put the phone down. With the internet sometimes you just have to walk away, and long, long, way away.
