I thought you nailed the accent.

"Swmwn n a crr tht knacurrrrd dunt getteh till mee ow oo droyve."

Never mind, eh? He couldn't drive for toffee, but he won the moral high ground because his car was newer than mine. Or something.

It's not the first time the 305 has provoked that sort of reaction, either. Glad to know I'm helping people better themselves.

Was the 305 available with the tweed interior like the 505? I always had a strange desire for one.

My auntie owned a 104 in the early 80's if that's any help?

My estate has a beige tweed interior and I think FOAD's GORLD/grey/silver/parsnip coloured one does, too.

There's a seat cover on the driver's seat because the trim is essentially destroyed. Beige tweed might have been an exclusively Automatic colour; there was definitely grey tweed available, too.

17" Goodyear I think. But don't forget, fitting, disposal, other bullshit fees etc.

That's for one tyre though - I had 3 new tyres to the ZX last year for £140-ish with balance, disposal, & fitting, and they weren't budget brand... :-o:shock:

Yeah....

Shove it up her arse.

Very succinct best man's toast to the groom at such a posh wedding, I thought.

Vectra still going into limp mode.

Due to the exoticness of it's powerplant I cannot see it getting fixed - I suspect the suction control valves are at fault. And they are buried in the V of the engine.

.... got out of shower cold, covered in suds in a freezing cold house. I'd been growling at the badger last night so I've got smelly nostril hair too

I think you just blew out any sympathy votes you had collected up to that point...

MIL still being an absolute cow about the LDV Pilot on her drive, it is a bit of an eyesore, but should be going soon- no need to tell me every month. She keeps telling me how shite it is and how "her grandchildren" are never going to be allowed to go in it. She was fine with it until fairly recently....

Her being a bit of a cow to me seems to coincide with me declining to be be godparent to her sons new baby. I don't get on with him so I was surprised when he asked me. The brother in law was fine with me saying no, I'm not religious so don't see how I can stand there and make all these promises in front of God, plus I just CBA with it all. Apparently the MIL was pissed off to the max over it and said I was going to cause a rift in the family and all that. FFS, why ask me if I can't say no!

Anyway, since then she's been a bit of a cow, just general nagging sometimes and ignoring me other times. Regular folded arms e.t.c.

Faimly eh? fuck em.

Refunding that once I've double checked then!

Been there!   Blamed the missus, had a big row.  Refunded the buyer then found it again (where I moved it to).  Lost the will by then, though, so I burnt the fucker.

Luckily it was £5.20 Inc postage so I'm not too upset. I'll have one last look tonight

Found out from a work mate who overheard a manager talking that the company I work for are going to investigate me again for dragging the job out, parking up for an hour, that sort of thing and they're going to be watching me on the tracker to build up a case against me and then hit me with it when they have the evidence they need to fire me.

This is all bollocks again, the job I'm doing means I have lots of down time waiting around for my booking in time at collections, I'm always a couple of hours ahead of schedule and in the past I've told my supervisor about this and was assured it was all fine and that they knew I'd have to park up and wait for booking times.

The mega irritating thing is they're seemingly setting a trap for me to fall in to rather than approaching me and asking what's going on. I have a suspicion that as they couldn't bust me the other month (for something that turned out to be their fault)they're just trying to get me on something else. I know the manager behind it and he's a slimy bastard only interested in climbing the greasy pole and has got rid of other drivers in the past on similar issues.

Fuck being a lorry driver!

Had a funeral at the weekend (my grandma). I had a eulogy to give. Was running a bit* late. Started at 15 min late, by the time we were an indicated 5 minutes away I'd managed to make time up so we were only going to be 3min late.

Then

things

went

a bit wrong

on a semi related note could I have opinions on whether the tyre on this looks roadworthy?

Fucking hell! New underwear needed?

Sorry about your job. It sucks when you have to grind away day to day.

It was brown trousers time, definitely. Fortunately SWMBO was an absolute rock, because I was shaking like a leaf. She calmed me down enough for me to be able to swap the wheel out and carry on, we got there 45 min late. Could have been SO much worse, we were very lucky. Missed the funeral but made the wake.

Actually a beautiful metaphor to sum up how life is going right now.  Fuck it.

Start keeping records of your day, nothing much just '10.45am, called supervisor, commence waiting for booking, 11.47 new booking to xxx'.    Jot it down by hand during the day, type it out once or twice a week.   If they give you a disciplinary and you have a printed list of dates and times documenting your movements that ties in with the tracker and calls then matey boy won't have a leg to stand on.   A bit of a pain but easier than changing jobs.   Good luck.

It's a fun feeling isn't it, the front corner hitting the deck and you just sort of hoping it doesn't spin whilst you brake and hold the steering fucking tight! Not something I want to repeat...

Went over to the garage this morning to see Martin about getting things moving with Hyacinth.  I kind of wish I hadn't.  I don't like having to lean on people, not least because I've never been any better than useless at it.  If it ever does get done I'm half-expecting him to hand over the keys with the words "Never come back."  He hasn't said that yet though.  In fact we talked about taking the car away (an option he brought up) and I rejected the idea, on the grounds that neither of us would win from that.  He would get a reputation as the man people take their cars away from, and I'd get one as the man who takes his car away.  He'd get no more work, and I'd find it impossible to get work done.

I suppose I could have gone out for a little drive in the Cadillac but the weather hasn't been very conducive this afternoon.  Shame, as that car is the best anti-depressant I can find.

Also, isn't it against the rules to build a case against someone? You can't where I work, that's for sure. If they believe you have done something wrong they have to pull you in asap afterwards and discuss it with you.
