Payment sent. V5 filled in. @worldofceri has loaded and left the sellers compound.

Expected ETA around 1pm.

Edit: Interesting bit of the thread starts here:

Very excited, even if its happened all a bit quickly! Bought sight unseen in person and sold as a restoration project - despite it looking alright from the photos online. But as we all know, pictures never lie unless on a car advert.

So a little bit nervous on this one too!

It’s left the seller’s “compound” ?

Is it an ex - dictators limo? They are fond of compounds if memory serves, plus dictators are often dishonest which would deffo raise the stakes here.

FSH? Yeah right Colonel Muammar

Any clues?

Problem is, if I give any clues then someone will pretty much guess it. Which saying that in itself could be enough for someone to guess correctly... ?

It's from a small time trader. Compound is actually a Christmas tree farm where he stores his cars!

Back story is that the trader took this in part-ex for a XJ8 he was selling. He got told the car I've bought was in excellent condition and pictures were from it been restored 7 years ago...

The car was collected sight unseen and he isn't too happy. Did say he was going to sue the last seller for difference in value.

Latest pictures show it detoriated a bit and it's sold as a restoration project. Bit of a crap shot as it doesn't look that bad and going by the other stock the trader is selling, I expect he was expecting a absolutely mint, concourse example.

I got it for not a too bad price as these things go and it was last MOT'd in 2018, expired (not failed) in Nov 2019 so hopefully not that bad! ?

Has it ever featured on the EBay Tat thread?

Probably! I try avoiding that thread... Dangerous for the bank balance.

After checking since the eBay listing start date, unbelievably considering what this is, I don't see anyone putting it up on there!

I avoid that thread too as it always creates wants.

To be fair, project threads can do that too...

That you’re incredulous at its absence should be a big clue in itself.

That and your BL perversions lead me to believe its an Allegro.

Sorry, the lever is a bit stiff.

The anticipation here is overwhelming. I too would consider  expanding my fleet if three conditions could be met,

1. I had some money

2. I had some space.

3. I had a decent workshop.

As none of these conditions are likely to be met I feel my fleet will have to remain as it is.

It will be something that doesn't need an mot probably crusty enough for more welding practice and from the BMC/BL group. You have enough sporty cars already, so probably a porridgey saloon.

So, Allegro, Princess, 1800, 2200, Oxford/Cambridge.

Edit for reality.

Latest news from Ceri is that the ETA pushed to 1415 due to an accident on the M4 near Reading.

I take it all back, it's a Daimler double-six, in heather with a vinyl roof and maroon velour trim
