Ooh exciting :)

there cant be many cars in the past 30 years or so that cant hit 96Mph

so its bound to be something interesting and different :)

im going to go left field and say one of those new Electric Citroen Ami's? :)

(I would totally have one if I could afford it as a local runabout, not got anywhere to charge one mind unless I tap into a streetlight...)

That’s a Band C offence isn’t it? I’m not sure I completely understand how it works now but isn’t that 150% weekly pay and six points? Once upon a time it would have been a £100 and 3. Maybe it still is? 🤷‍♂️

In about 2005 I got caught doing 95 in a mk5 escorts 1.6 and accepted points and a ban instead of a fine.

Not my proudest moment.

Seat Arosa in pogweasel with a persistent and annoying shimmy through the steering wheel above 55mph?

Quality choice. How's it compare to the green AX?

Is the Carina staying about here? I'd have liked it but I'm in the middle of a house move and I think I'd be divorced if I bought another car.  But you never know in the future.

It's a 954cc and I presume injection.

Green one was carb and 1.1

Yes, Carina is staying on the forum

First thoughts:

It's filthy.

It coughs a bit under acceleration

Seats are different

Brakes are weak

Temp gauge sits a bit high and there was a bottle of water in the car. Always a worry

Exhaust manifold held together with mole grips (I kid you not!)

But it has a years MOT and seems pretty solid, so could be worse I guess.

Yep, that's got throttlebody injection. I hear it's rather robust. Wikipedia says it unleashes 49 raging, testosterone-filled horses.

It will definitely be getting painted, it's horrendous close up.

The question is what colour? I think something a bit more grown up this time. Possibly a Battleship grey. 🤔

I'm impressed that you actually get a temp gauge, rather than the more traditional Citroën "it's fucked light".
