Anyone else on google earth?

Sadly not a lot of my assorted nails on Google Earth, as they've only done a few sweeps round here.

A screenshot from July 2014 reveals KAZ, the Laguna bASe, on the drive of Casa DC not that long after I acquired it:

1749682254_HD2014.thumb.jpg.0b6c50e9370cf4125e7394d3a0f9af55.jpg

I peeled all the giffer-stickers off the windscreen before too long. The blurring also helpfully disguises some of the dents and stuff.

Also nice to see next-door's Corolla TT, which was written off not long after this when a Transit t-boned it and put it on its roof (no injuries, thankfully).

My only other Streetview image is further back again, from August 2008, when The Poor Old Escort (as it was known) is shown dumped near the place I was renting in East Belfast.

1550190654_OaklandAug2008.jpg.eff45219d1ad8bba9b05d37ef1a4f67a.jpg

Massively damaged nearside not shown. Touchingly, it seems I've made sure the steering wheel Disklok is fitted. Can't be too careful...

I'd hoped I might also be able to find an image of the Cortina Estate I bought in August that year, but there's nothing visible. I also can't now remember the seller's address (somewhere in Cambuslang) so I can't even navigate to Streetview for Glasgow and see if it's parked at his place, alongside his rather nice Marina Coupé.

Google only visited us once, in 2010. Strangely these images were not accessible for years, until after the local Authority eventually adopted the public areas of the estate from the original developers then as if by magic you can now “drive” past my house:

and the pile of shite XR2 with its taped over sunroof repair proudly on display.

What the place looks like today for comparison - fence replaced by wall, manky old Fords replaced by modern German kid-hauler, and mildly interesting driveway ornaments replaced by an 8 foot trampoline semi-permanently blocking access to the garage (which in 2010 housed an early Sapphire Cosworth and a Peugeot Sum Up 125 scooter).  Changed days.

My old long-term MR2 parked in the road outside work. 99% of the time I use the car park- it was coincidence that day I needed a quick getaway and my car was caught on camera. Screenshot_20241207_211051_Maps.thumb.jpg.f3f29772d9ed15582c69701225842f7e.jpg

A blight on the landscape.

In an odd coincidence @davidfowler2000 must have been visiting at the time, as his old V70 is parked around the corner in front of my van...

I saw the Google car at Brampton on my way to a holiday in Keilder Forest in October 2022.

Spot the autoshiter's house!

2009:  I must have been out in my Mitsubishi i.  My back-up cars are in view.  Reliant Rialto (was reliable and in regular use) and Ginetta G26 (Ford Cologne 2.9 V6 auto, not pinto powered. The main result was understeer and unreliability from atrocious electrics).

Wow, Google has a better photo of my car than I've ever taken myself 😂

Mums old house was re done recently and driven by again as its a current photo now, so that's boring.

My dads is a couple of years old now, and he's parked on the grass which means they were having people over that day, whenever it was. It was reversing onto that grass bit slowly in late summer that I heard my back brakes squeal and upon checking them they were almost dead 👌

Avec tow bar anaw but no trailer. Interesting. I always removed the tow bar when I wasn't using it. I reckon this may have been the day we delivered the Dolly then took Rach to the minor injuries unit and I came back to your house after dropping the trailer off.

I got randomly papped in 2021 while sat underneath a levitating Transit Connect. You can even see the weld sparks on the photo! My old V50 in the foreground that got sold for the current 405 Inastate.

Don't think I'm on there, my cars are in various places. My partner's mum is, putting the bins out. Quite nice that she's immortalised on Google forever, as she died very young and before I met her daughter. They haven't even blurred her face

I'd have had the hump that day as she's parked in "my" spot, which is longer than the others, so my Passat fits better!

I'll have to fire up the laptop to go back in time a bit for some others

The Corsa as far as I know never appeared on Street View. I'm sure my previous Qashqai did, but that timeframe seems to not be shown any more on Street View for my road.

Here's the Megane outside the house I lived in for my third year of uni.

I hadn’t thought about shite before I owned it - here’s the Sierra Ghia where it lived for about 20 years, I bought it about a year later ie. 2011. In a strange twist I also looked around the house on an open viewing towards the end of the decade when it came up for sale.

Parents, this was a brief period when mum had bought the Swift before selling the Ibiza Cupra. My dad’s 850 AWD also visible, it was another 10 years before he eventually sold it on, outliving the Swift which was chopped in for a pre-reg Celerio in about 2018.
