Whenever I “break” a car for scrap, or just scrap it, I always clean them out. I suppose it’s a bit like a send off and final clean before it heads to the big car park in the sky. Don’t know why, I just do.

This is a big thing for me. You can't see most of the rusty bits when you're driving, but you can see wiper arms.

I'm a stickler for OEM-correct items. I don't mind some upgrades but as long as they are OEM.

A new (old) car will see me fetching sad things such as OE handbooks with correct wallets, OE floor mats, OE wheels/wheel trims. I'll try and source dealer stickers aswell if I can.

I also like photographing cars like mine; now with Rover 800s, its understandable, they are rare etc... but I even photograph stuff that I now drive like the e46 BMW and Vectra C estate.

I share your appreciation of clean glass. Bloomin' hate net curtains! However I also suffer from being a lazy bastard that can only be motivated by it being quite bad before doing something about it

No, it's bollocks. it must be the overnight condensation that freezes. I have a fair few wet towels in the back of my van and it's not uncommon for the inside of the screen to freeze when it's really cold.

Can't start collecting mowers, haven't got the space! 

I know some washing machine collectors! One has a shed* at the bottom of their garden (I'd call it a flat tbh) with about 70 vintage ones in. All wired up and plumbed in! (apparently only about 5 can be used at once or the breaker in the shed trips)

I know a washing machine collector too! He is an odd fellow, but so am I.

Telephone collecting is probably just as strange in the eyes of a “normal” person, especially when I say I specialise in Telecom Australia models from 1962 to 1995.

Ha, ha, did something similar with a Mk 1 Cavalier.

Not me personally, but I went around to see my friend Chris a few years ago. We were sitting in his front room watching tv and became aware of an intermittent high pitched buzzing noise outside. Turned out it was the bloke next door cleaning all the rust off the underside of his old Civic. With a Dremel.

Someone I know not only cleans all the shut line (doors/bonnet/boot/petrol cap filler but polishes the paintwork too. His Orion 1.6 GL was a minter (literally, it was light metallic green), shame he didn't investigate below the waterline, the sills were completely buggered.

I collect Rover memorabilia! Mainly pin badges but anything from dealership signs to carrier bags. Also a bit of MG or Land Rover thrown in.
