Hey Ford, the Cortina was your golden goose

Don’t give them any ideas! They’ll suffer the same fate as the Capri and no one wants that.

How many head gaskets do these have? Presume two but I’m clueless.

Definitely 2 head gaskets as the engine is a flat/boxer/180 degree V etc......

Might be a late one that has the adapted headlights that don't go yellow with the plastic lenses. If so - nice to have! Like rear headrests too.

The only good diesel Ford made (roughly of that era) was the 2.5Di. It was probably too late for and maybe never have slotted in the Cortina, and the other diesels they had were fucking rubbish. It's (very) good thing they never fitted them to the Cortina, imho.

I had a Sierra (91)  and Mondeo (96) with the 1.8 TD. Not great by today’s standards, and wasn’t as good as the Peugeot 1.9 but it was pretty much par for the course , certainly in the Sierra.

I worked for a place that had software that 'forced' you to use plain English. Bloomin pain - woudn't allow me to use contrafibularities at all :-(
