I know there was a 2000E Sierra which cashed in on the success* of the Cortina 1600E (and 2000E?). It may have been the intro model for the twin cam engine which (I think) subsequently became GT. 

In other words they were trying to differentiate the twin-cam engine with its space-age EEC IV electrickery away from the ageing Pinto.

Ah ok, that's poss -  the 2000E was two tone with leather trim - I have that brochure - but not a late Sierra one,  I had the twin-cam in a  Ghia.

I had the twin-cam in a Granada auto. Not fast but it never went wrong
