"I bought this car some years ago for my son to learn to drive"

how nice.

"he’s now just turned 17"

ok, time to put it to good use?

"bought himself 3yr old fiesta"

maybe not. No hard feelings?

"after years of keeping was wasted"

ok then, but why buy it so early?

I'm certain this was a stock rim on something, my brain keeps telling me FIAT, but even after a 1+ hour dive into the rabbit hole I can't find a match. It isn't Porsche 914, or Marcos GT, or Sunbeam Tiger. Grrr!

Could be from a Fiat 124 Sport or Spider

Talking of keys fitting, my Mum had a habit of locking the keys in her Metro, and one time, according to my Brother, she borrowed the keys from someone else's Metro & one of them fitted in the door lock!

You know those racks of numbered, single-sided keys you used to see in key-cutting shops? I have accumulated a few*. In rural Ireland, house keys used to be sold like that.

Rover Sterling mathematical challenge. Calculate how many miles the car has covered and get to drive it home!

Wait, let's read further. This is the longest car description on ebay - I started writing this post at 4pm.

There is even a running commentary of the weather he he writes the advert.

Well, I'm stealing a bit of that for my signature

Prosaic, but not Booker prize worthy.

A+ for effort, though.

Come to think of it, if he's gone to that great a length to explain the mileage, imagine trying to haggle with him on the price... 😖

It's doing well! Bids are on almost £2.5k with near-on six days remaining on the listing. I note it's a private listing to 'protect the identity of the bidders' too. Clearly it'll be third time lucky* for him...

a mini is my attainable dream car although always to skint for one.

"Goblin Girl" Insert joke here...
For sale by tender from the Nottingham site. What manchild wouldn't want this? I can't stop staring at it.
Unfortunately, it’s sans keys, V5, MOT, boat engine and ancillaries. I can see VOSA getting well interested in GVW too on your first trip to Skeggy.

No. Well, sometimes. Sort of. But not one of those

I had a Mk1 Cav 1.6L (which also came from Bedford funnily enough) and I don't recall that being particularly undergeared, at least not by the standards of the time.  It certainly wasn't screaming its knackers off at 60 like the Viva was.
