Hello all, ive been driving bangers since my first Skoda Estelle back in the eighties and ive mostly driven them ever since. Currently looking to invest about six hundred quid in another bag'o'shit to to neglect, cane and abuse...

Recently punted my old LDV 400, a real rabid mongrel. (Never again Lol)

Hoping for some good ideas on the forum.

Cheers!

Hi everyone, after a few months of quietly lurking I've decided to create and account introduce myself.

I'm currently the sporting a 52 plate tdi golf SE with a few dents and 140000 miles and still going strong. Along with red escort 55 d van. The van is used for doing up my first house and not light burglary duties and poorly tarmacking old ladies drives for £10,000.

You're MY Triumph now...

Thought I'd pop in and say hello. I'll put up my 'shite' when I get 5 (can be botherd)

Evenin' all

I'm new too, lurked a little down the years, and been on other car forums.  But it was at the NEC classic car show this year I realised AutoShite was the forum I needed to join... Why?  The car I got most excited about seeing was the white Talbot Tagora, and when I looked through my photos of the day, some of the highlights appeared to be Rover 200s, 800s, the Vauxhall Novas etc.  (And the bright orange Marcos monstrosity obviously!)

So here I am.

Need to get some current Shite tho, not sure if My MG Midget counts as shite enough, and my 'modern' certainly doesn't.

Had a bit down the years, Brown Vauxhall Nova (hence the name), VW Polo Classic(!), Pug 306 (worst car I've ever owned), Porsche 924 (Best car I've ever owned!), Triumph Dolomite (as featured in Practical Classics goes rallying), Alfa 156 etc

The dream of course is to have a fleet full of oddballs and the like - one day maybe!

HI! I hope you don't mind new member from the continent. I am from Poland - few years ago for shite cars lovers it was country of plenty, but not any more...  Real, full-metal cars are vanishing from streets - some of them resting in garages, but I prefer them on tarmac where they belong.

My daily driver is Polski Fiat 125p built in 1986. For longer trips with family we use '98 daewoo nubira, or renault master I sleeper-camper :-)

Previous cars' list is to long to post here but among others: 3x 125p, 4x fso polonez ('80, '98 brand new!, '94 with rover k16 and '99 truck), fiat 126p '77, bmw ('79 E12, '92 E30), '80 skoda 120L, '94 thunderbird v8 and '85 FSR Tarpan - The Crap I miss the most...

The brown forum continues to attract a better* class of people, this is pleasing to see.  Welcome, one and all, there's complimentary stuff somewhere probably, I'm pretty sure we still have a Mrs Overall/Doyle tucked away in a cupboard somewhere if you need a cuppa and a nice biscuit.

Hello, GM here up in Edinburgh

my current motoring line up consists of :

a 2004 honda civic diesel (more shit than autoshite, a very dull drive but does get good mpg)

and a 1990 eunos roadster / mx5 (a bit more autoshite as its had way more spent on it than I paid for the car, and of course the wife hates it)

nothing makes me happier than to spend an afternoon throwing spanners around in the street and inventing new swear words as a typical "that'll take half an hour tops" turns into a battle of wills twixt 24 year old rusty Japanese bolts and a maniac with a grinder !

Hi, here's a couple of pics of the current A-S fleet. Just trying this to hone my 'posting' skills. If it works for me, will post more info later, thanks.

The '92 super basic PG 106 and the slightly modded '87 2CV.

The 106 was bought with 18,000 miles, now on 21,000 with FSH. 954 cc, carburettor, nice and simple, comfortable, fun to drive. Speedo has just stopped working, in common with every other similar period PSA erratic speedo car I've had.

The 2CV has earlier panels fitted / welded in, glavo chassis; I fitted a super smooth recon engine, which was built up by a retired old style engineer called Mal in Redditch. Bought it from a dealer, had been garaged for ten years, used as a dog kennel, would love to know how it achieved an 'MoT' before I bought it. I've been hands on with 2CVs for 40 years this year and, despite owning many over the decades, still have a love / hate relationship with 'em. But, they're addictive; best ones are tatty, no time for all of this car show concours type stuff.

Pic of recon 2CV motor in the back of the Daihatsu en route from Redditch to E Sussex.

My previous '67 Dyane, which is now up in Durham in the safe hands of a friend; in company with the Minor which replaced it.

The trusty Charade in mid-Wales; these are fantastic, well built, economical, fun to drive; seriously unheard of, and relatively cheap to buy.

'57 Minor; 1098 engine, box, rear axle, brakes, interior; found for a bargain price.

I love them all.
