Hi

Tom from out in the sticks near Ludlow here, just signed in after looking at this site for ages........

I have plenty of shite and maybe one that isn`t shite but I like all rare stuff, anyone seen the Simca on ebay? I`m going to drink some beer and did on it when the mrs is out......

My list of cars:

1959 Standard Pennant ( very tidy owned about 13 years )

1981 Mercedes W123 240td ( should be on road for summer )

1996 Lada Niva 1.7 ( rust free and tidy apart from an awful paint job I did a couple of years ago )

1983 Triumph Acclaim ( actually the mrs car but she drives an old Freelander(shit or shite?) now and I`ve promised to restore it

1968 Renault 16 ( bought off a chap called Tim who introduced me to this site a few years back ) (should be on road soon after 18 years since  it was last on the road

1997 Xantia estate ( think I`ve just sold it though but no money has come my way yet....) but now im regretting selling already.

1999 MGF VVC ( very tidy, just needs clutch master, was going to do that today but its pissing down now

1998 Ford Escort van ex post office ( on the road and I`ve fitted an Escort Ghia interior ) seriously thinking about having Post Office stickers put back on it

Probably something else stashed away that I`ve forgot about or bought in the meantime........

Is he still using that LDV? I thought it was mostly a shed now. Clee hill seems to be pretty good for spotting chod. There's a dented 309 just across from the pub and a mk1 Transit parked up a few hundred yards away. I bet there's some top bus Shite parked up at Rough and Bumpy travel too.

EDITED to add. Permission has been granted to meet for beer on Friday, my missis is even giving me a lift :)

There`s a pale green Citroen Dyane just past the yard, used daily. Is yours a dark blue or green Austin 1100? There is one that  zips along the Bridgnorth road quite well

LDV being used despite its looks, used for mobile bars. But you would have to be half pissed to want to get in it.

The back of Hopton Bank Garage is a shitefest too.

I happened across this site the other day and I've been addicted. Great community and a lot of humourous posts.

I've always been interested in cars and I'm drawn to older cars. New cars leave me a bit cold to be honest not that I get the chance to drive anything that new anyway. I've had a few older cars including a BMW 325i touring e30, a surprisingly good Citroen ZX 1.4 I bought off eBay for £62 with MOT, a Citroen ZX 1.9td Volcane that was excellent, a couple of old A4's, a Citroen BX, Fiat 131 etc. I've got an Alfa 156 2.4 jtd now which fleeced me for £1400 for a dmf, clutch, suspension and aux belt last month. It's due a timing belt soon but it's not getting one until it behaves itself. I also have 2 mr2 mk1's. I've had one on the road for 10 years and was considering selling it as not practical but instead I bought my mates off him as a project too! No space, money or time to spend on them but there you go. I'm currently considering a Volvo v70 and also have a hankering for an Audi 80 but not sure why? I'm looking forward to chatting with likeminded car nuts who are looking for automotive heaven, on a budget.

Oh good, i'm in. This means I can lurk on previously locked boards. I like old cars and I am tight so I love this forum. Previously owned old Series Land Rovers a couple of Volkswagens and the newest car I have actually owned a 95 Escort Estate about 6 years ago, the most remarkable thing about that was the torch built into the key. No real shite at present due to company car but hope to add some old tat back into my life as the skin on my knuckles has just about grown back.

Evening Autoshiters!

I'm Jack, a doctor working in Cardiff during the week, but I live and tinker in Plymouth.

Made my way here via the blue, following a Mr_Bol post. Best forum I've found on the net, love the attitude of members so had to join.

Spent my childhood hanging out with some hippy type scrapmen, and my old man and his mates build 30s/40s/50s choddy hotrods.

As my username would suggest I tend to drive VAG cars, but no pineapples here!

I've never spent more than £1k on a car, dislike ECUs and traction control on principle and refuse to ever get finance.

In the past had a '72 Beetle the engine fell out of, flirted with a 1.3 '83 mk1 Golf (SORN, turned out to be hot) and a Renault 4 van. I'll do a proper post at some point.

Current fleet:

Daily -

4vkc52.jpg

Mk 3 Golf 1.4i. Torquey lump in a fat lurching shell (like my ex). 156,000 miles on all original guts. Every part of this car is absolutely shagged, but I've been driving it for 8 years and I love it. Probably going over the bridge in April when it inevitably fails it's MOT and I can no longer make a point for it's continued existence.

Summer blaster-

2znwgti.jpg

'89 Scirocco GT2 bought off ebay. 3 owner car, 76,000 miles with FSH. MINT!

Only just found this forum because of the moped thread - some great stuff in there and took me right back to the early 1970's

I get to drive nice shine new cars at work, but always found driving an old shitter to made me smile. Now I have a 27 year old Merc that I paid peanuts for. I know it's worth sod all, but can't help keeping it clean and waxed, even though it makes no difference - it's still a cheap car.

Hello :)

not too many years back I moved to a new town and at same time bought an old J plate Citroen ZX 1.9d in pale metallic green. spent most of weekend cleaning it up and it came up like new. in a couple of days when it was dusty someone wrote `loser` in the dust. I knew nobody in the area so it must just of been someone who didn`t appreciate shite...
