I'm the joyous owner of many decaying and decrepit diabolic pieces of ****. Currently only one of them turns of it's own accord: a less than fruitful rolling wreck of a van of Renault trafic. Other non-rolling mobiles include a faceless lupo(sans front end that I accepted in lieu of payment after fitting a new steering column to a stolen car), a decaying e36 that's been plundered for all it's worth and a civic aerodeck that needs it's gearbox putting back on after a clutch change. Outside of these misadventures I'm a seasoned proficient mechanic with a unsurpassed knowledge. And I also enjoy chainsaws (with no real use for them). I do hope I can fit in here. Low Horatio gearbox 220
Hi all I'm Steve a recent lurker and thread reader, hopefully I can maintain the low low standards needed most of thr time. The current fleet is a 71 XJ6 A 72 Rover 3500 - purchased as I took my 8 year old at the time son to view it and was a bit reluctant due to the state if decrepitude and rust only o have him love it and turn to me as it rattled bits off on the car park test drive " were buying this aren't we dad?" Tho I hold my hand up for every other mechanically dubious, rusty ched of a car I bought.. And a modern Mazda -boo, his. (Tho it decided to top up its sumpmwith diesel last year ready for its first service so...) I look forward to the agony and ecstasy that AS will bring. crad, Shite Ron, GrumpiusMaximus and 12 others

Merryck 21
Hi, I'm Guy. I was referred here by one of your lot after I offered him an A4 on the cheap. Apparently this is a part of the internet I haven't yet been, but has been waiting for me all along! I'm not sure what the guy's username is, but he recommended I put it up on here as a roffle. Never seen that being done before, I love it and I can see myself getting into trouble already with that moped currently being offered! Currently in my fleet I've got the aforementioned A4, a 1989 Land Rover 90, a '65 Midget and the remains of a 1989 Mini Red Hot I'm hoping I'll get to one day. It's been 15 years so far and I haven't got it back on the road so you know, watch this space! Oh, I also just bought a 1974 Commer Walk Thru to turn into an American burger van for my restaurant. That should be an interesting project. Three Speed, Dabooka, leanycan and 11 others

Merryck 21
There's a build thread starting on Retro Rides, but here's what it looked like when I took delivery of it at about 5:30am one morning in late December! Poor dude who delivered it smashed his lights up trying to get it to where it was meant to go so we had to abandon that and park it in a nearby car park. sdkrc, Low Horatio gearbox, Coprolalia and 4 others
Nails1979 11
Hello all, been to a meet before with out run, haven't got any thing interesting atm but have a penchant for forgiving cars being shite and love a good bodge. Currently have this rusty 1.6 diesel with dodgy power steering, and another bland car being a 10 year old cash cow as the family run about. Normally like 2 seater type stuff but considering a van to convert to campervan. Not sure I want to trap myself in a small space with 2 kids and the mrs for extended periods though. I’m afraid I’m a bit of a Cashcow apologist, I’ve come to see mine as a modern day Matra Rancho, plus it urinates from a considerable height on my old Golf. sdkrc and Nails1979

Ged 5
Hi all, just your average lurker with nothing interesting as of yet other than a crusty Mazda 2 but otherwise looking to buy my first shitbox for too little and spend way too much time on repairs. Figured something might pop up on here for sale that goes against my better judgement. Remspoor, motorpunk, Low Horatio gearbox and 2 others

R114 7
Been reading for a few years and decided to sign up so that I could reply sometimes. Daily's are modern, but I do fondly remember my teenage years buying cars for little money and tinkering with them. Still have an old Rover 114, my first car, stashed away that I assure people in my family who roll their eyes that it will appreciate in value...maybe... ThisWayUp 15
Hi all, I’ve been more a lurker than contributor, and realised I’ve not introduced myself. This forum is my essential reading and my thanks goes to everyone who contributes. A brilliant range of vehicles and superb dedication. I’m plodding away at my own little collection of stuff trying to get it in good shape by tinkering away. That’s been my escape in these lockdown times - a chance to escape and get some time out. Don’t get me wrong, my family are great, but we all need that bit of space. I got a bit disillusioned with new cars, and getting rinsed by depreciation. I don’t have a company car and wouldn’t want one, but I do quite a bit of travel. my solution is to hire cars as and when, which costs my employer less than the mileage money. A double whammy as I get to play hire car bingo and I get to own cars I want rather than cars that suit my job. Currently I’ve got an Audi S8 (D2) which I’m rather attached to. It’s super comfy and good at wafting. The chocolate gearbox has melted so wafting is rather minimal. This months job is to pull the engine and box to get it rebuilt and resume wafting. The collection was worthy of an AS collection thread - bought sight unseen via eBay. I lost the auction but dropped the seller a message in case the sale failed. It did and I put in a cheeky offer. A 205 restoration in the garage which to be fair has stalled. I need to get that going as it was a great little car for blasting around. I want to build it to be a standard looking car.
