Where is Eddy?

No timetable yet.  Hospital couldn't believe how swiftly I was walking and talking, although I did have a little relapse early on.  I think that was partly down to not getting any sleep that night.  I reckon I'm out of commission for the summer at least.

Although a newbie on here I wish you a swift recovery.

A shame your cars are going but you never know what will come along when you can return to the road.

Best wishes with everything.

A shame if the cars have to be sold. Try and take advantage of whatever offers of help from here to keep them, but GLWTS if you do need to let them go.

Eddy, a long way from you I know, but if it helps I can offer long term (outdoor) storage for your cars here. Sure we can get them here somehow if you decide you want to keep them. Short term insurance problems for keeping them on the Queens highway can also be sorted, pm me if needed.

Best wishes. Hoping you have a quick recovery.

One’s too many, ten’s not enough!

I think I've discovered where Eddie is hiding, riding a flat head and blowing the sax.

Eddy I'm just back from a few days away in Northumbria and have just caught up with your 'news'

Give me a shout if I can help with anything, off road storage for any of your fleet for as long as needed (one space only unfortunately) or help with deliverance to any purchaser of same.

If you fancy going to the Car show at Grange this year let me know if you need a lift,

There seem to be a few posting good wishes here that i Haven’t seen in a while, that’s a good thing Eddy...

Again: thanks everyone.

Just been talking to my GP (on the phone; it's obviously too difficult to call me in) and he reckons I could be driving again in 4 weeks, which isn't bad at all.  Depends how my recovery goes, I suppose.  I think this is good news.

Sounds good news to me Eddy, I'd assumed it'd be longer.

Yes, so had I, hence the frantic selling-off.  Let's see how it goes...

I expect some copious Cadillac hoonage!

Well I've spent all afternoon and evening in Barrow hospital waiting first for a scan, then for Preston to pronounce judgement.  Not coming home was looking like a prospect!  It seems likely I'll be going in for further surgery, and soon, possibly within the week.  So, Rover's gone, now I need to find a new home for Huggy.  Hence the price drop the other day.  I'm not going to be driving for a while yet.

Sorry to hear about the second go around.

Get better soon. Hopefully the recovery Ward looks like the set of the ITN 9 O'Clock news circa 1986.

Thanks guys.

I'm sitting here thinking (doing way too much of that recently!); specifically, that it's a bit indulgent of me having a whole thread about my ailment/s and especially on the main forum.  Could a Mod move it over to Open Forums please?

Posted

You're held in high regard here Eddy - don't be silly, we're all keen to know you're alright, and many might miss your updates over in the open forum. I'd say such updates as your wellbeing are welcome here on the main forum, matters of 'shiters welfare are more serious than we as a whole like to admit, and they shouldn't be put aside.

All the best.

I'll echo that sentiment too, if this had been posted on Open I would have missed it entirely.

Round two is hopefully nothing too serious, just getting the flapwheel in there to smooth off any whiskers they forgot about.

Sorry to read of your ailments Eddy. I hope you make a very speedy recovery.

As said I hope it's just a bit of "Neuro snagging" Eddie, Keep us updated please and keep your chins up

Good luck with everything, Eddy.   Hope to hear that you are back behind the wheel sometime soon.   In the meantime, I can only echo other's sentiments - you belong up front on the main page mate whatever the conventions say.   Not everybody does the open side and a major development about a well-respected member shouldn't be allowed to go un-noticed.

There are always exceptions; this is one.  All the best, Eddy.

Sorry to hear this Eddy, I hope it goes well for you.

Forget about cars, concentrate on getting better and think about what chod you can pick up after all this is sorted!

Crikey - only just seen this.  Sounds like the op to hammer a larger brain over the old one went OK though, just a tweak needed?.  All the best.

Just been chatting to Eddy, and I do wish you all the very best of luck, you are a beige place legend, you take care of yourself buddy. Hopefully they will get you up on the 4 post lift, pop your bonnet up and find the fault and sort it
