What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Somebody died, so not really a grin. Do not try to weld a fuel tank, especially if it is a very big fuel tank that you have to climb a ladder to get to the top. the explosion was heard for miles. Very few details yet,  it only happened a few hours ago so details are sketchy, including what was actually in the tank.

I was sitting here before thinking how shit YouTube is, as it seems to freeze/slow things down, then I randomly remembered all the sort of stuff I used to listen to back in the day. It's snowballed and after listening to loads of stuff, I'm now half way through The Exploited's 'Let's Start a War' album.

I hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs but you can select a lower quality stream in YouTube (it's the gearwheel icon at the bottom right) that doesn't seem to affect the audio quality much.

then there's YouTube-mp3.org and the like for ripping theaaudio out of a video and downloading it to the desktop. Mightily handy when your cd player is gubbed but you already own the license to listening to it by owning the CD ;).

Darwin in action again, lucky no-one else got taken out though.

The tortured vowels of a NZ accent never fail to make me grin, either  :-)

Just been to asda, parked next to a new Mini. I wondered why I could still hear engine even though I'd stopped the rover so I had a look - 15 plate cooper locked but running. I noted the reg, and informed customer services on my way into the shop - a woman showed up immediately and when told said "it can't be, I've got the keys..." Windows XP obviously didn't teach everyone that you need to press the start button to shut it down.

It's a grin because I've never seen that happen before, although there was a thread about it recently (americans sueing over being gassed to death by garaged cars?)

Yeah, that's definitely going to help me get a job.

I saw a taxi today, which is not unusual... however, it was an E46 compact.

Well, someone finally beat the Chevrolet Aveo I mentioned a while ago.

Just been on the news that Nissan are investing £100M in Sunderland. That's great news for the work force and suppliers etc, nice one.

More bloody Jukes though :(

Can't move for them round here (three miles from the Nissan plant).

99.9% driven in a terrifying manner too. Actually, ditto Cashcow and Note.

Watched a program on Quest. Some chap buys a car then uses the engine to make something. There was a FSO Syrena on it last night. Never heard of them before but mega want now  :-D

He did yes but since nobody can stand the bloke its not on the preferred topic list.

After me saying Princess sills are virtually impossible to find, someone in my vicinity is selling a pair for £30.  Fingers crossed they're a matched pair or, at the very least, two passenger side sills.  It'll save me so much graft!

Didn't Brewer do 1 of those a few series back?

Not sure, was a cool wee thing. Only 7 moving parts in the engine apparently.

Sat here tucking into my lunch, reading Skizzers adventure with a Jaaaaaaaaaag, and Gary Numan's Cars pops up on the radio......very appropriate I reckon. .

When I picked up the car today, got the radio on (eventually!) and the first song that was playing was Kayliegh by Marillion. I took that as a good omen! :)

Also, I got a wave from a fellow owner on Shaldon bridge :)

Today, this happened.

That is a screenshot from my Debt Management charity that I've been paying for about 7 years now. As you can see, I've paid them over £20k. However, the important bit is the outstanding amount - that is every penny that I owed everyone, it took longer than an IVA but I paid every flippin' penny back. It may turn shite related, as it's just freed up a whole heap of cash.

Tonight however, is a bottle of ale and some chips to celebrate.

I'm confused, how come you've paid up but they want to take another payment? Well done anyway fella. It's a lot of bloody cash to pay off. I've been in your situation in the past. Not a good time
