What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Or, like me she might not have enough faith in them. You still have a good couple of feet after the solid bleep starts.

Not on mine, solid bleep means STOP NOW! You have at best two inches to spare. I like it this way as I can get into tight spaces, though the first time I really tried them out and thought like you, I had to buy the lady that parks behind me a new no plate!  :)

Not really but it did touch as I didn't put the handbrake on and it rocked an inch or two inn 'park'.

Actually I can admit here (Matt's not looking) I have found them to be a bit hit or miss (pardon the pun).

Perhaps she is old fashioned like me and believes that "parking by ear" means you keep going until you hear a crunch.

Parking by braille is too common, look at most generic euro shitbox and there will be a parking scrape on it

I've been toying with the idea of fitting parking sensors to the back of the Pug for a while now but that's put me right off that has.

I wonder if anyone's ever fitted some of these to their bumper instead...

I really like parking sensors 'cos the back of my car is fooking terrible to see out of! Even though it's got a little window below the big window, I cannot see a thing out the back. It's just like all modern shite, no visibility so you have loads of accidents but very safe when you do!

My grin is: my monthly BT bill has gone down from £45 pm to £36 and I get the next two months free(!) 'cos I is in credit. Still. £36 pm for a phone I never use - call charges were.... zero!

gave someone who has a serious job last years AS calander and they had a technical prob where object had to be scanned  many many times at different resolutions and sent to remote sites.  Hope the December pic of someone wearing a turkey hat gurning out of the window isn't copyright as it's now confusing a lot people.

Cycling into Norwich this afternoon I passed a lovely K-plate Saab 99 - oldest one of those I've seen on the roads in ages.  Then a bit further on that lovely blue Volvo NH12 came past, and a couple of miles from Norwich I was overtaken by an F-reg 309 GTI.  Wasn't really expecting to see owt interesting on a grey and slightly drizzly February afternoon, so it was a nice surprise.

That was my thought, she probably had too much faith in the things but they can't see everything.

What, you didn't get a picture? :(

Unfortunately my phone was out of reach. There is a crevice behind the Horizon's little shelf in front of the driver, it often slides into there.

I love the way the transit arches have bubbled through the tidemark.

Happy time....for the first time since november i've been able to get both the xj-r and the metro our off of the outlaws drive and actually use them on the queens highway, though not at the same time, obviously!! Plus i managed to get the leaky headlamp replaced with a lovely new one, i've wanted that doing for bloody ages.....

Grump mode, i'm coughing my lungs up and bloody sick of it, i dunno if i've got it from work (they are all coughing like mad there) or from SWMBO who was badly last weekend.

I drove a bunch of lads up to Nottingham Kart track today and they all chipped in so I could join in too.

Had a great laugh and was invited to join in the nights pub crawl too.  Next time I'm going to sneak a sleeping bag onto the minibus and pre-warn Ms C that I may be some time.

I'm not condoning 'direct action' or anything, but this is quite entertaining. Apparently, in Russia, driving on the pavement is a new 'thing'...

Well that knocks F1 into the shadows, after 12 hours five cars cross the line within 5 secs of each other and they were all different makes. Shame about Matt Bell in the Bentley losing two places in the last corner though!

^^^^ No surprise that the bint in the Ewanque caused the most trouble.

I saw some of the race and as a endurance race fan I would have found 20 safety car periods in 12 hours tedious if I'd been there. It's good that it's available to watch free though, thanks for posting details.

I was watching these the other day too. In this one some dude rescues them by threatening some guys with an AK-47* and some other dude threatens them with a pistol.

* I personally think the guy with the AK is probably a casually dressed policeman of some sort as there is a siren before he turns up.

Watched a couple of them videos and you notice it's not people with shite cars that's on the pavement

I was thinking about that and wondered if they could make the lead car a virtual safety car. I am surprised that marshals are still waving flags, they must get arm ache in prolonged safety car stints. lights around the track or even in each car - we have the technology.

  • Yes, the AK47 guy was a cop. The siren announced his arrival.
  • I wonder why they don't just stick a few bollards or a boulder at the end of that rat run.
  • Watched about a dozen of these vids and the civilians pull weapons regularly. The activists carry on as normal despite a cocked pistol being pointed at them. Balls of steel.  Pistol toters obviously haven't seen this:

I worked on all three of my cars today, successfully too I might add.  Been a really nice day to work outdoors for once.

MOAR Guy Martin on Channel 4 - "Our Guy in India". Ep02 is on right now, but Ep01 is still on 4OD

There's currently some elderly Indian woman doing a BOLLOX and fitting a new tyre to a truck with a plank of wood and a hammer. Meanwhile, best quote is "They're not bothered about the Euro 6 Emissions over here"

I loved the piece of smoked glass given to guy by the Indian guys to protect his eyes whilst welding the centre stand.
