Just got the insurance renewal through for the Polo and I've not yet started ringing other insurers. Admiral have reduced the policy by £400 effectively saving me a third on the previous year's policy. That did put a smile on my face.

Nice one Trig. That Scrote is making me grin too! Fabulous. Bet that's long dead.

Finally did my driving theory test this morning, 48/50 on the multiple choice bit, 52/75 for the hazard perception, which is a big fat PASS. Just need to remember how to do the actual 'driving' bit and crack on with that and away I go (to the test centre).

It's only taken me 10 years of sitting around and saying "really must do that soon..." ffs. At this rate I'll by legally driving sometime in 2015!

Nice one,Barrett! That theory test malarkey seems a bit of a slog tbh, my lad passed his recently and I don't reckon I'd stand a chance and I've been driving 31 years.

Are you having lessons as well? Good luck when you do your driving test I expect you're in the boozer now getting trousered on cheap lager!

Sending this message from my mobile telephone thing. Now I'm not usually one for getting into these things, I did once or twice use an old phone of mine to go the internet a few years ago at work whilst bored, so its great to be able to access the net without switching the computer on.

Also tried the GPS Sat-Nav thing on it, not tried to go anywhere with it yet but it seems to have finally picked up a GPS signal.

I just finished a bottle of Hobgoblin, and noticed it has a promotional prize draw thing on it, so I've entered the code under the cap and am now in a prize draw to win a guitar. For some wierd reason I feel lucky

Going back to the names a few days ago, I work for a Dick Plant - he's pretty well known among bus types up this way, though it's still quite easy to fuck it up when people ask if you're "still working for Dick?"

I once bought a bus from a man called David who insisted on being called Dave. His surname? Granger. Universally known in the industry as "Grave Danger". Nice bloke though.

We used to see a load of cracking names back in the airport of which I can sadly remember very few. I did once do a last call announcement for a Mr Bastard, who apparantly travelled quite regularly on Jersey European.

I used to work with a Holly Branch and at another time an Adolf Hillier.

Poor sod.

A lad a work went by the name of Joe King, his dad Wayne and half brother Fu used to pop down time to time too*

* Last bit may not be true

This pleased me last week whilst driving the van though not as much as my Honda reaching 88,888.8 miles whilst touring North Wales.

Not really a grin and OT but I think some of you will find this interesting. A really good documentary about the Chernobyl accident.

I had no idea how many people were involved in the attempted cleanup. Or how serious the situation still is and how men sacrificed their lives to prevent a second explosion that would have 'rendered Europe uninhabitable'.

Facinating, give it a watch.

I know a very intelligent lady, she used to work as a Dentist's receptionist. During the quiet times, crosswords were the order of the day... She's a bit of a wordsmith. When the next patient buzzer was pressed, she called a Mr Havercroft. But called him Mr Hovercraft. Apparently he made an official complaint. Twat.

I was once in a Hospital when an elderly gentleman arrived to be booked in, and I didn't hear his name too clearly, but it sounded like Gobberdick or something, with a lengthy (ooer) first and middle names. The receptionist said loudly "Oh that's a mouthful"..... All he could do was laugh and shake his head...

We have a customer at work whose last name is Raper. Always gets a smirk.

Johnny Craddock had a book out. It's called "I only eat Fannies"..

I'll get me coat.

Fucking Hell, that has changed my opinion on nuclear power stations. What is more worrying is that as time goes on the politicians think that it wasn't so bad after all and make the same mistakes again. They should have sent the government ministers in to clean up, not innocent miners.

I know a plumber called Paul Johnson that once told me an amusing anecdote about how someone stuffed a freshly-caught fish down behind a radiator in a working men's club. Apparently it was many, many months before the source of the smell was discovered.

We stuffed some tins of dog food into/behind the radiators in the B&B we stopped at on my stag weekend. The owners had been through people's rooms and we reckon they nicked my mate's camera so it was the least we could do.

I used to work for a family ran building company, the bosses son who was one of the chippys was bit of a bellend and this one day he was really winding me up, I decided to get my own back by putting a dead rat that i had found that morning in the yard in his van, he drove a Mazda E2200 van which have the engine in the cab under the passenger seats so whilst he wasn't looking i got this said rat and laid it on the engine and put the seats down.

I told the other lads what i done who all found it funny, the next day the son comes into work moaning about a rotten smell in his van, well everyone cracked up and ripped the piss out of him all day. He wasn't very happy!

Same here, I was previously fairly pro-nuclear power but this changed my mind. And it usually takes a lot to change my opinion on something, I am quite stubborn!
