I'm doing an online induction for a site I'll be visiting next week, check out what's in the car park in the video. The red car's got to be a C6

Watching something on ITV , ad break announced “Sponsored by Alpha Romeo”

Thing is, the car shown was a Tonale. Now I’m sure it’s pronounce Toe-nar-lay in Italian but equally could be Toenail in English.

Looks like all my mail and Christmas cards will be going second class while these are available.ecdaf0a8a1155af1432746cd462cbe32.jpg

It's my birthday today.

Bit of motoring trivia: (I believe) in the month I was born Ford started offering the Cortina mark IV with a 2.3 litre V6 engine option.

I have been told I'm overpaid because I mentioned "television industry" and "bottle of champagne" in the same sentence.

Apparently a £30 bottle of fizz is far too extravagant!

Had an eBay purchase turn up today safely wrapped in a couple of sheets of Classic Car Weekly.

Apparently I've just got a parking ticket

I think it would be a good idea to remove the scam/dodgy link, just so no one accidentally clicks on it, or does not quite realise what it is :)

Yeah ok, it's been edited so it won't work.

Had a bat flying around my garden earlier.  Identified it as a Pippistrelle of some description and using a free 'bat detector' app on my phone it's picked up 55KHz, which is apparently a Soprano Pippstrelle.

Since we moved into our new build six years ago we have been making efforts to attract wildlife to our garden.  This year has been great, with regular hedgehog sightings, a number of different bird species and now bats.  Absolutely delighted.

Which App do you have? I have a couple of bats around in the evenings catching flies at dusk.

It was just one called 'Bat Detector' in the Apple App Store.  I've no idea how accurate it is and it would need a specialised microphone to be properly reliable.

I should get my lazy arse out to see some.  My neighbour claims that there are lots in the woods 100 yards from my house.

I have walked through the woods at night and not seen any, only owls.  One of my neighbours had owls and the bloke next door has now, they used to call to one another (the owls, not the neighbours).  Perhaps they scared the bats away.

I asked the internet if owls eat bats and apparently they do.

Done a couple group bat walks around the woods at work with a knowledgeable local chap who brings a bunch of detecters with him. The noises they make are quite entrancing.

Do see a load more when on my own around dusk. Shall download the app, thanks.

Went to my daughters (she lives on the edge of the park) and mentioned it to her and she said that they are having 'batwatch' days (nights) at the wetlands/waterfowl park that she volunteers at, apparently there are lots there.

Did have a wander through the park and it was completely batless.

Last ones I saw were flying around my mother in law's house in Whitby, in the nineties.

We don't really notice any bats but do get visitors of various types.

Most nights a pack of jackals seem to do a lap of the village, usually checking out the bins..
