Free beer from Maidenhead CAMRA beer festival courtesy of my colleague who was working there last week, coupled with an early finish after 7am start.

My grandson had his glasses broken at work last night and is flying to Norway tomorrow so took him to Vision Express (he works for Tesco so has a discount).

They couldn't fix them in time unfortunately so superglue it is for now.

They asked why I was there.  I told them but said that I had been going to make an appointment since reminders in February.  She made an appointment there and then for an hour later.

I have three pair of glasses.  General use, i.e. 2~5', close work, 10"~2' and distance (driving) and was expecting to pay around £300.

Turned out to be £0 as there was no significant change since the last time.  Made me happy.

A couple of weeks ago I emptied some petrol out of a generator put it in a container with a lid on it, put it in the garden then forgot about it

Went outside and it was empty , my wife said she hadn't tipped it out

Hmmm

I see clarkson now has what could loosely be described as a restaraunt

£49 a head for a 2 course beef dinner under an umbrella or £69 in the barn with a bottle of fizzy wine between 4 ( minimum booking 4 for either)

how long do you think that'd be open without JCs name attached to it , fair play to him though,  if you're going to take the piss do it in style

Easy money for him. We're only jealous.

Surely the blades should be a blur if it's running?

Tbf, when I was delivering pizzas it was amazing how many people thought they'd spend their time that way whilst waiting for delivery. Nothing wrong with that but make sure your dressing gown is closed properly before you answer the door ffs

This.... In daily use. Owner was a total gent. Typical rear end dishevelment but a cracker nonetheless

Eg, this one from The S*n

https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/19162540/im-a-car-mechanic-and-im-always-repairing/amp/

"If an engine's timing chain snaps it has the potential to cause huge damage to the pistons, valves, cylinders and camshaft, all of which are extremely expensive to replace."

Ah yes, the ever costly replacement cylinder. I'm forever replacing cylinders 🤓🤓

On a similar vein, when I did my oil change the other weekend my drain can wouldn't immediately drain (I leave it outside, the spider webs had gone solid) so I had to launch my hand in to clear it before it overflowed. Hands coated in oil I tried to wipe it off ASAP as I was drippi g everywhere and couldnt go into the house...

Can sort of see where I wiped my hands... Should have gone to some council grass and done it 🙄

Guy 2 doors down has been bringing my nice sandwiches for the past week or so!

20220713_111923.thumb.jpg.737bfe828ad7f13e1fe5df5d876130c6.jpg

Said the sandwich place on the same bit as the mot place he works at gives them away at the end of the day if unsold, because there's no sell by date they can't donate them. Their a van that drives around industrial estates type of job.

They've been very nice. Have noted he said mot station, might enquire how one would procure his services before 02/09 and if the rust on my wing would be a mere advisory or fail... And would his daughter like to play in my paddling pool with my kids again 🤔

It's how the yoofs spend their money these days , I used to deliver to many garages around 10am , the van would pull in , ring the childcatcher bell and out they'd come running £5 notes in hand

£30 a week gone on butties

Interesting approach, I haven't died yet by bringing food from home and saving a few coins 😀
