There's an interesting story to tell around the Tata Indica and the City Rover I reckon.

Took up the pallet wood walkway I made years ago and reclaimed all the screws and brackets, whoop.

I already get regular computerised warnings about my car being over 5years old and more than 90k miles, telling me I need to to address these action points..  not going to happen anytime soon 😂

I didn't know whether to put this here or in Grump, but I decided here...

Just been on FB and someone has posted up a wall of boxed Vanguards cars at a fiver each plus post, so I sent him a message with some requests.  MrsR looks over from her chair while I'm typing and asks what I'm doing; cue a rant about me having too many already.  Meanwhile I detect an increasingly urgent signal that I should go to the loo.

Well I wasn't quick enough typing, was I?  Just a spot on my trousers (clean on today) and undies (yesterday's) but I've had to put them in the machine and nip upstairs for some clean ones.  I can almost feel her trying not to laugh.

Worse things happen, I guess.

Wife and me are on holiday.

Camping. Filled the Astra with stuff we might need. But not stuff we do need.

We went to the beach.20220704_141107.thumb.jpg.110562672a84de9623dbcfbd53d045f8.jpg

Put the tent and gazebo up20220704_174953.thumb.jpg.bc296a96edf02a51d9303fc02bd48425.jpg

Then I took photos of a 1.8 NA Deisel Romahome.

Sadly, it's getting more and more normal for me.  It's not excitement, nor even fear; it's age.

Sorry to hear that. I was trying to make some light-heartedness out of a not so nice situation. Black humour does not always come across well

You are right, but this just made me laugh.

It is a similar vibe to the infamous Clarkson couldn't be bother to drive a Vectra incident.

I do realise that, tbh, but thank you for clarifying anyway.  It's been with me some time now and the novelty is wearing off so perhaps I'm just being over-sensitive or something.

My personality it seems. Or maybe that should have been left at home.  Somehow managed to fuck up the whole trip yesterday afternoon, by getting cross about something.

Nope.  I have no time.  But I did buy a complete rear axle assembly with discs and LSD.  Cluttering up the garage with more junk counts as progress, right?

Took my dad to pick up his new (used) car today after purchasing it last week. I don't think I've ever seen him so enthusiastic about... well, anything!

It's a 2018 Mazda 6 estate. Loads of kit on it. 🙂 Modern cars aren't generally my thing but even I think it's a good looking car.

They are a nice looking thing those Mazda 6s.  Had they sorted out the self-nomming engine by 2018?

Jury seems to be out on that one. Some maintain the issues were fixed somewhere between 2016-17, others say even the newer ones will fail, they just last a bit longer before going boom.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
