Just had text message from daughter.  She is now officially a fully qualified, pharmacist.

She's done her 4 years at uni, and her year as a pre-reg and taken the final exam a few weeks back.  Now she's able to start her new job in a hospital in Manchester.

So fucking proud. My wife will be relieved. Our job is done* (never done)

The old shite car market is crashing isn't it? Prices are all over the shop and I'm seeing stuff for sale at reasonable prices again?

Anyone else noticed?

Certainly hope so as my C5 looks terminal.

Hoping to pick up an estate, 406/7, V60 or perhaps an Octavia.

I'm fairly actively looking for a 406 estate, shitbags are cheap but nice ones are actually pretty dear currently

Just as well BoJo is recruiting 20,000 extra police* as the country is obviously overrun with dangerous criminals with no concern for the safety of anyone around them.

Its the sticker manufacturers that need to be made responsible. They are nothing but enablers to these sickos.

This year has been good, business wise.  I'm still not megarich, obvs, but I'm not struggling now.  Taking a hard look at what I was doing and culling certain items from the regular update schedule - such as the automotive stuff - has proven to be very sensible.  The interesting bit is my customer base.  Some of my customers have been with me for years, what they want has pretty much stayed constant for the last decade and it offers some contrast with new, younger customers.  Where I used to offer character development, research, attention to detail on clothing construction, etc. with any sort of character artwork, that's no longer required.  Now, younger customers want simple designs, bright colours, and no complicated backstories.  We've gone from slow burn to instant hit, character development to snapshot.  I see the same thing with the way people interact with me on commissions, across the board.  Older generation customers are happy to converse via e-mail, newer generation want to send a 5 word, 3 emoji instant message, and both want the same end result.  It's like learning a new language some days.

I'm just happy in my job.  It's been a long old slog and right now it feels like it's paying off.  It feels good to feel confident and appreciated for what I do.  There's not a huge amount of people that can say that and genuinely mean it, not even me until recently.

A colleague explained to me that recently he was driving along with the window open and a wood pigeon flew in through the window and hit him in the face. The bird was panicking and flying around in the car while he found somewhere to pull over to open the door. He said his car is full of feathers and bird poo. What made me laugh the most was he said that he thought that someone had thrown a book at him ?

Didn't sleep a wink last night - we were at a guest house near Troyes, it had hit 44 degrees in the late afternoon and was still high 30s in the house all night, plus the room overlooked the main road into the village so we had tractors roaring past at all hours.  So had been hoping for a better night tonight.  Just arrived at the gite near Annecy where we're staying for the weekend.  It's 28 degrees and this is the view out of my room window.

Just got the Jag back, MOT (£50) and a service (oil and filter basically and Shell Helix posh stuff not reconstituted chip fat) all for... £120. I honestly do not now how he does it! I know he's slow but goodness gracious me, that is jolly cheap.

Had a flight in a Merlin chopper today thanks to Fatharris of this parish .

I just got a letter from management at work requesting that I park the Corolla around the back as it is “aesthetically detracting” in the business car park in the eyes of the customers.

Personally, I think the gaudy modern tat belonging to the management is far more aesthetically detracting.

I went to the dentist yesterday as one tooth was a bit throbby and got a double course of antibiotics, one has a strict no alcohol clause, even mouthwash can cause chundering apparently.

This morning I had a chick pea sized lump on my gum, an epic throbby gum boil.

A close inspection, a squeeze and I ruined the hotel mirror but feel so much better.

Grin?

Would if I could but I am a stunt double for Popeye at the moment

Another day, another PPI claim succeeds. My estimate of what I'd get - about 300 quid. Barclays estimate. Same amount. Multiplied by 10.

Bring it

If you haven't done so, put a claim in even if you think it ain't worth it. Deadline looming.

Kwik Fit Mobile fitter just came to stick a couple of tyres on the Honda. Easy job for him as the wheels are off already (I'm  mid-swap between aftermarket rimz and original Honda alloys) - all done and dusted in 15 minutes.

Nice bloke - he was admiring the fleet, and we had a good old chat about BL chod generally, and I urged him to go to Gaydon. He was also telling me he'd bought a Golf VR6 as a WBOD a few years ago for 600 quid. Still got it - now worth about 4K.

When you press it, does the car turn beige, lose a wheeltrim, and also halve its power?

We can though!

HOW? It’s not even a rising bolard.

He bought an Off-Roader so now it's off road, well one wheel is.

Tip it on its side, lay the bollard flat, tip the Honda back on its wheels and drive off into the sunset.

Booked a few days in Mulhouse at the start of October to visit the Schlumpf collection.

Quite excited, and the (proper shitty looking) suburbs of the area look ripe for spotting. Early morning trips then, to avoid the streetlife, just like in Lille then.

I'll also spend a day in Basel.

It was sarcasm, I burst out laughing, so did Charlie!

No idea how it happened, fixed wooden post! Possibly a 3 point turn gone wrong?

Social media got another angle
