90% of my leak was a loose oil filter.

I have a crank shaft sensor seal kit on its way via autovaux.

Payback should be about 3 weeks when you consider the cost of fully synthetic oil it been pissing on the left exhaust

since fitting the black hardtop to the mazda, I've been getting a lot of wind noise at speed, closer inspection showed the roof to be bowing upwards in the middle - solution :

pop a wee* bit of weight on the middle and adjust the clamps - and it now fits beautifully, and I can hear all of the other noises instead :)

Couple of grins on the way down to Chez Saabnut (Fr) today. The Gillet Jaune protestors were on a traffic island in Rouen and another lot on an another traffic island at Parigne Leveque (just up the road). The protests involved dancing around and waving flags :-) Both lots appreciated a blast on the horn and a thumbs up from a UK registered car, with the Rouen lot (about 20 of them) taking a bow in my direction.

mum came back from outside and brought back some food from the local chippy where one of the owners gave me an extra sausage (ooh err) for new years

thoroughly enjoyed said sausage and chips while watching Pt2 of DWs 2CV Scotland adventures :)

Yep. FTTP (BT Ultrafast 2)

I think I need to sack off Virgin, with their poxy 6Mbit upload. I often need decent upload more than download.

And also today I learned that you can buy a HomeHub5 pre-flashed with OpenWRT for £20 and the VDSL bits still work unlike a lot of flashed routers.

for the last 2 years I've bought an Odeon Limitless pass at christmas as I think it's excellent value for money £205 for a full year of cinema, it's even better for me as the local odeon is a 5 minute walk away , except it's quite old, built in 1988 and a bit shabby by today's US style cinemas standard

This year I was reluctant to renew the limitless as Cineworld are building a new state of the art cinema in the centre of town so I was unsure whether the local odeon would close :(

But no :) workmen have appeared and much refurbishment is happening, I spoke to the manager , the whole cinema is being turned into a Luxe cinema with state of the art projection and luxury reclining seats, it'll be unrecognisable inside, only the outer shell is to remain as it was, they're spending £5,000,000 on the whole site

So limitless pass purchased  :)

Two of my colleagues yesterday showing some Streetwise-selfie lurve - they took this without me knowing when they went for a wander round the block and then sent it round the team

I don’t know what the FTTC upload speeds are like - I don’t think that many places have FTTP, mostly new builds.

Just to add to my love of cinema post above , I've not spoken to anyone who didn't love Bohemian Rhapsody , even if you're not a queen fan , the acting ,cinematography and nostalgia make it well worth watching

Except one guy on another forum who didn't think much of it , then he posted but the stream wasn't very good so he's probably watched it at worse than VHS quality on a laptop

There really is nothing like watching a film at the cinema , you just need to pick your films , nothing with superheroes in , anything popular wait a few weeks , don't go at weekends or meerkats night and you'll avoid the dickheads

I’ve decided things that might make me grumpy are things I’m just going to laugh about this year and get on with life...

So having got home from work, put the kids to bed, ordered parts for the Jag, fitted an air filter to the Galaxy, had tea with the wife, looked through a photo book I made of our first holiday together five years ago (brownie points for me), then started doing bits to the downstairs toilet (oiling beams, plasitkoting a white fan black, and general diy I was quite chuffed and grinning about a good evenings work.

I got a bit of black paint on my work shirt so took that off and wanged it in the washer and then let the dog out for a wazz before bed, only to notice the builders had laid a small wall foundation in the wrong place today.

So while the dog found somewhere to shit, I set about digging up a half set foundation in slippers and topless at half one in the morning like some weird homage to Putin...still smiling!

I've been to the Luxe in Putney, it's how a cinema ought to be. Proper nice.

Odeons had become generally very ratty, it shows how you sometimes have to invest in order to make money!

youngest lad Louis got his offer to read Geography at Oxford.

Nowt like a bit world of pride and tears of joy to chase away the old black dog.

in fairness all three of my lads are brilliant. Just that Louis works his bollocks off all the time so has seriously earned this

Are those LS400 wheels?

Yes. The ones you get with the Dynamic Handling Pack.

They look very tasty.

That plasticoat stuff looks good too

I love old houses , I live in a modern house but my whole life I've wanted to live in something victorian or older

I've parked Aldo135's Xantia where I can keep an eye on it from my office. Managed to get it positioned just right so I can look at it just by glancing to my left :)

I don't think that's how you kill woodworm.

(It would but it'll take a while.)
