I saw some stats that said women crash as much as men but tend to have cheaper crashes.

I took that to mean men can crash better :D

I have seen that quoted as well, they went on to explain that it was due to the types of vehicles and where they crash. Men are more likely to crash more expensive cars on higher speed roads and women are more likely to crash lower value cars around town. As with all statistics it’s about averages and trends and individual cases will be at opposites ends of the spectrum. It also said the gap had been narrowing for the last thirty years, presumably due to changes to lifestyles over that time.

Aye I expect it'll even out too. Just amused me and gave me a new fact* for wind ups.

The sound of PSA central locking; unmistakable. Sounds like a really long-throw solenoid in a big empty box. And the doors don't quite lock at exactly the same time.

Then add the whirring of the mirrors folding and the violent clunk of the fuel flap lock.

It's like a shit orchestra!

A few months back I bought some Mr fix ceramic coating from eBay , wasn't expensive , under £10 delivered , next day delivery was an option for £1000 which I assume was mr fix's air fare from china

I only bought it to coat the black plastic on the Range Rover, happy to report , all the black bits are still very black and water repellant after weeks of sitting in that sun , it's bought them up like new , would recommend, not tried it on paint though

When brand loyalty actually seems to get you somewhere.

Have been a happy Vodafone customer since 1998. Service has always "just worked" and never given me cause to complain, so never considered switching. Recently having got a Bluetooth equipped stereo in the van resulting in more use of Spotify on the go, I for the first time ever found myself running out of data. All 1Gb of it.

So wandered into my local branch. Aside from a round of applause from the staff when they confirmed that I had indeed been a customer for 20 years and two months, my "Please Sir, may I have some more?" query was responded to with my data allowance being increased from 1 to 16Gb, and I walked out with a Huawei P20 Pro, for £1 extra a month.

I was happy with that. Hadn't really been planning to upgrade from the P9, but if you're going to stuff it under my nose like that, sure. Can't say there's any other handset out there just now I've the slightest interest in. The camera is a big draw (the one on the P9 blew me away, and saw me stop carrying a separate camera), so looking forward to seeing what that can do.

Orchestra? All that new-fangled stuff sounds more like a pop-group, with their electronic keyboards and 'drum machines'.

At work earlier, as I was unlocking my bike, I had a very surreal exchange.

A drunk man wanders up.

'Do you know how many people come from Newcastle?'

'Quite a lot'

'Thank you'

and he wandered off.

Its amazing! Stop and let the Ai kick in before you take the photo. Unless your taking a pic with text in, then take it before the ai kicks in, as it crops it down to the text!

I recommend the spigen case and screen protector too. Expensive, but lovely!

Will keep that in mind.

First phone I've had where it's a bit of a shake it needs to go in a case, the finish really is gorgeous.

Keep forgetting how easy setting stuff up on a new device is these days... couple of sign one and everything just syncs.

Just need to sort out the chaos on the home screen and we should be good. Will give the camera a shot tomorrow.

Check the small print.

Some councils don't allow the storage of cars...........

In a garage?

You'd think they'd not be happy about the storage of body parts or pharmaceuticals or guns or maybe a gin still, but cars?

Weird

I seem to recall someone on here had that issue. The council he rented a lock up off complained he had a car in it & threatened to kick him out.

So he was pretty lucky.....

I think that's true of a number of his "inventions". Some of the stuff he's done is really bloody scary. The pulse-jet engines being the most frightening for me.

I love his bunker though. Still don't understand why it had a ladder and not a staircase to get into it though, he had plenty of space.

Any astronauts/cosmonauts on here? Seems one of them has fixed a hull breach on the international space station with gaffer tape, if not a member on here then they should be.

Only just spotted this. Erm, that would be rather pointless wouldn't it!? This seems to be renting from the same private company that now does about half of the "council" rented flats in the area, so not direct with the council. The only proviso that I can find so far on any of the information is that the garages do not come with an electricty supply (which I would have been stunned if they did).

Unfortunately the row of garages I'm looking at is just too far away from home to be able to run a cable out, so an old car battery and 12v LED lighting it is. I might even see if I can get hold of a few 12V Lead-acids, as I've got a 3phase Variable Speed Drive somewhere which can accept a direct DC feed and it doesn't need balanced loads on the phases so it could fairly easily operate as a single phase inverter for some smallish 240V loads.

Assuming I get one of course. Not heard anything yet.

The self-service tills in Poundland have started talking like Elvis.  No, I have no idea why either.
