I used my eBay selling account for the first time in a couple of years last week. When I logged in tonight eBay had sent me a £20 voucher (on a min £40 spend), so I was able to replace my (knackered and incomplete) 1/4" socket set with this Halfords Advanced job:

Not fire starters ? Who started it then ? Sort of burning bush but with a modern twist ? Or did you just happen to be passing with a handy fire extinguisher ? Questions, questions Mr The Moog.

Apparently they were professionals. Especially when sloshing and kicking petrol about.

If I do it... That's an asbo

Not car related, but a few weeks ago I bought a small bronze cats head from a car boot. Awaiting confirmation but looks like it could be 3000 years old from Egypt! Don't care about the value just buzzing to have found something that old.

The product is a grin (but not the wedge it cost. Mrs Honda bought the top half, I the bottom and it was on one of their VAT-free offers):

So when are you moving into this fine establishment ?

Picture? Did the seller know it was so old?

(probabky upside down due to iPad), Nope he didn't mention any age, to be honest I didn't have any idea it may be 20 years old let alone 3000, I just love the process of casting bronze and it was cheap, enough so took a punt. It was onlyndoing some research when I got back that suggested it may be more than I thought. It's not going anywhere as I love it.

On a quick look at a photo I'm not sure?? Did you research it? Or find anything about it? As in is it meant to be grave goods or just one of their sacred cat things?

Looking at the Rover 400 page on Wikipedia, and I noticed someone had changed every instance of Rover to 'Roewe'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rover_400_/_45&oldid=795916267

Looked at the edit history and found this, it looks a lot like someone from ARO or here or something had been messing.

The editing user's about page reads:

Personal life

Jamfirstpard lives a sublime existence in Cornwall with his wife and son plus two pet T-Rexs called Otis and Jeff. He lends Otis and Jeff out for weddings, christenings and organising car parks in Chatteris brimmed with Roewes. He finds the N-word offensive (it's Datsun) and is a massive car enthusiast (figuratively and literally). He has also been questioned in connection with having indecent pictures of Fiat Puntos on his computer.

Religious Beliefs

Cream Teas are served two ways - jam first or incorrectly. Large steak and a can of Fanta.

Illnesses

Jamfirstpard has been ill at least many times in his life. He has actually been dead three times, two of which were fatalites, to be sure. The worst bout of illness happened at Gordano Services near Brizzle, where out of sheer desperation he ate a Ginsters so-called pasty and contracted TB. TB caused almost instant death, however the following week he was claimed to be "feeling a lot better". Three days later he died again but remained dead for longer this time. The coroner found traces of Shame and Regret as a result of Ginsters ingestion. The coroner recorded a result of death by Idiotic Causes.

Legacy

Jamfirstpard knows ice cream enthusiast Giles Walker who owns a collection of Subarus. They make the Legacy.

The whole article has been esited and slightly amusing. Certainly sounds like someone from here.

From what I can find out it would have been a household item for family worship with a 'middle class' Egyptian family. They have also been found in graves but the info I can find suggests that is as a treasured item as opposed to being made to go in the grave.

Of course it could be a 1920s replica, but the way the casting has been done doesnt seem right for that. I have sent some pics to a localish museum and may take it in. I just love the idea having of something that old, I have a few bits of iron age pottery, a civil war cannonball dug up in my mums back garden and a couple of Roman coins and I am fascinated by that link to the past.

Do have any knowledge of these things? Any info would be gratefully received.

Finally got some storage sorted now, albeit out in the open, but it's secure, off the beaten track and fairly local. Had a mega night on the piss last night and tonight off to see Stiff Little Fingers.

Jammy beggar, one of my favourite bands. Hope you don't find any s, s, s, s, suspect devices on your storage!

Got a new daily yesterday, and it's like driving a huge, bodykitted go kart.

This is a metal sign thats been made into a tabletop.

It's double sided but has had a ring of ply glued to the

other side for the legs to screw into,so i suppose the

print is ruined.Don't know if it's original or repro, but it

was all done quite a while ago by the look of it.

Anyway,two nice things.

Going to the Retro Rides Gathering ALWAYS makes me grin, and it's ten years since me and the 2CV attended our first, at Mallory Park. You get to laugh at people with hopelessly shit suspension struggling to drive across fields, meet lots of lovely people (always a good crowd), do some daft motorsporty stuff (sprint session at Mallory and Haynes Motor Museum in subsequent years, now hillclimbs) and generally have a nice time.

Also, it is FAR from all being slammed stuff. Check out this pair of beauties! Both so very different, both so very desirable.

Here's my 2CV after its third run, parked next to a Nissan Skyline R30 'Iron Mask.'

That certainly made me grin a lot too. Had a right laugh with the 2CV, with added lightness, even if Shelsley is not an ideal home for a 2CV. Prescott is better.

Just been to see Stiff Little Fingers, a full 36 years since I last saw them. They haven't lost it, it was fucking brilliant.

I saw Autoshite in action on my way to work. I was cycling along one of the main roads towards the centre of town, and there was huge queue of stationary traffic. However, the traffic lights were green.

I squeezed past down the nearside, and at the front of the queue was a P38 Range Rover with the hazards on, making very worrying noises when attempting to restart. I sniggered a bit, then enjoyed the nice empty road ahead, for the rest of my journey to work. :D
