There are a few allowed jobs group as well as being actually trade.

Also depends on who deals with it. I got mine with proof of commercial rates.

Today's best idea (not mine I hasten to add but one I will no doubt be involved with)

Driving a Shorrock supercharger via a chain drive from a sprocket mounted between engine and flywheel.  It might just work...

Pictures of said set up, if built, whether it works or not are I would suggest mandatory...

Yesterday was another trip down to West Wales, on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland I had a wtf moment when an amazing contraption came towards me. I have never seen it on the road before, but remember reading about it. It is a locally built one off three wheeler car, based on 2cv running gear with a beautifully crafted, curved mahogany body.

Other than that an uneventful trip.

Edited to add, the car is the Tryane II found pics on Google can't link

Last year on holiday in Malaysia I spotted a bloke riding a scooter with a monkey riding on the pillion. Fascinated I googled it and tracked him down. Turns out he is a serial animal lover and runs an animal rescue in Kuala Lumpur. Been in touch via emai/whatsapp and we are meeting him and his animals next week!

Saw a Zafira in a police chase on one of those Police! Sarcasm! Thuggery! shows.

Wondered if Billy needed an alibi.

Nice car but the driver did complain about its wooden handling though.

The weather is beginning to warm up after our not so cold winter. Look who I just pulled out of the pool and saved from a watery grave, not seen these little chaps about for months.

Or just walk in covered in oil and pick on the most vulnerable member of staff telling him I'd lost my last one and needed it replacing asap, they just make a new account on the spot rather than replace an existing card, this method removes any need for proof in the first place as they assume you already had one so can have another.

I went into Halfords last weekend. The girl on the till needed help working out what 10% discount would be ( British cycling card) so I expect that they're not going to be clued up on trade card discounts.

I'm not keen on a lot of the pointless tech in modern high end wristwatches, much of which is based on very old invention anyway.  But, if you're going to bring some 200 year old technology into a wristwatch then this has to be the most brilliantly pointless thing I've seen.  I'd have one but then I'd probably smash it to bits while working on the car. Oh, and I don't have $430,000 dollars either.

Very close with the Metro, but no. It's the local E reg Montego Estate. It's been a wreck for a few years now but I think this might have finally killed it.

The till does it when they swipe the card. You need to hand over the card before your stuff, found this out the hard way

They didn't even check my proof of trade!

If it's owt like what I used to work there, every trade card number starts with the same 6 digits and the rest of them don't actually matter, you could print your own off if you want.

There's no point really, anything you can get on trade at halfords, you can buy off the net much cheaper.

Yeah I suppose they're pretty good on a Sunday for bulbs and stuff. Also odd individual "not on offer" tools are reasonable on trade and the Halfords pro stuff is good, but anything that's not on their shelves will be double you could get it from somewhere else and it'll take just as long to get it in

I've a trade card. Rocked up to local Halfords with a business card for man and van and my drivers licence. Halfords branded stuff is highly discounted I've found.

My AA membership card came today, I'm on my mum's policy now instead of Old Man.

My card reads 'joined 1989'.

I was born in 1995.

I only really got the trade card as a status symbol to go with my Makro card.

Put a number, that I've had on retention for ages , on my Merc yesterday. Took all of 5 minutes online. When the online DVLA services work, they're great!

As I'm impatient and didn't want to wait 24 hours for cheap plates off eBay, I went to a local parts place, who made them up with the wrong spacing and argued for 10 minutes before they'd do them properly.

Apparently M5C TU is perfectly legal and I should have specified if I wanted M5 CTU ??!!
