VOSA came and signed off on our new MoT station today! Lots of shiny new equipment to play with, I can finally test classes 5 and 7, and I don't have to leave my garage and drive a mile away to do a test. WOOOO!!!!

I'll get a pic tomorrow, I forgot today..

That is good it is coming up to MOT time again

I saw this a couple fo weeks ago whilst on my way to pick up a car in Grangetown, I managed to get a couple of crappy pictures, there is an equally dusty forgotton about W124 saloon in front of it. I also spotted a Rover 800 parked up at Halfords.

This must be the biggest bullshit line in a car ad ever

Drove my Rover home :D  I've missed the old heap.  Feels LOADS better now it's had the head sorted out properly (cheers Mike!), I just have a week of What's That Noise/Smell? to play before I'm confident enough to drive it down South for Chrimble.

So, whats the job I will be doing?

Here, breath this pure cancer for 10 hours a day with a completely fucking useless dustmask over your mouth so that people in the west can have pretty things hanging on a tree they cut down specifically to hang things on for a couple of weeks.

How much do I get paid?

Pennies.

Do you never buy anything from China then? Somewhere in the world someone's working for a pittance. If you want to pay cheap then don't complain about someone working in awful environment.

This is the same guy that ate ( in different sittings) a pound of cheese , a raw sausage and a bunch of daffodils!

You will never guess his chosen sport

Im not complaining about it at all. Rather them than me, but thats because I am a self-centred prick. I just find it rather rich when people imply these poor cunts are grateful for the work. They dont get out of bed in the morning looking forward to a good days work - they dont have a choice.

Is it right? No.

Can I do anything about it? No.

But this isnt the right thread for this.

You could boycott products made in China.

Typing from a laptop made in China, smoking a Chinese-made vapouriser.

Hello, MrTourette here (Apparently I'm too new to be trusted yet to post in this forum).. It was me driving when I pulled up next to you at the lights. Always nice to get a thumbs up when at the wheel of a ridiculous vehicle!

Ben, Graeme and myself decided after a boys drinking holiday in portugal we'd all been on that we just had to got one of those awful cars that rattle about down there.. so many people said we never would that there was only one thing we could do. We've had it 2 years now and its pretty much been totally in bits and back together again. Its as clean underneith as it is on the top and it never fails to get a smile.

Anyway, nice to get some apreciation for our hard work. Its actually even quite nice to drive. There won't be any other ones like it.. Its probably better than new actually. I had to commission AVO in Northampton to make some dampers (22 click adjustables all round I might add!) And dont ask how to lower(/get sitting level) one of these...we only got it right at the 4th attempt!

Like to see the pics. I can only do class 4 here and most 110 defenders are now class 7 (3050Kg's) so I'm losing out on a lot of trade.

I might of just had a right score!

Talking to my sisters boyfriend this evening (about cars naturally!) and he said his mates dad who recently passed away had a few old cars that were needing to be shifted. He showed me the pics and there were a few 90's heaps but tucked away at the back was a Wolseley 1300. I got excited but sadly it seems to have already been spoken for.

Oh no, the score for me was in the next pic.

Right at the front of the property sits a Volvo 740! Yes, that needs to go too...

So it turns out it might be going for scrap as nobody's bothered with it.

A few questions reveals the icing on the cake. It's an estate - good, it's a 2.3 and an auto - brilliant, and it's a GLE - my fav spec.

It's an E reg so has the nicer early style front end and it's in metallic blue with dead cow seats which I like too.

And the best bit? How much? FREE!

So I might have to look at it and how to get it home as it's near Bristol and has no MOT.

Got a load of stuff to move over the next few days so thought it best to dig the 406 estate out. It's not really moved since Shitefest so expected a total faff to get the sodding thing going but no... unlock, key in, glowplug light out, lots of clag. Been a run leaving lots of clag everywhere and it's sweet as a 270k-odd mile XUD can be.

This gets better and better.

Just got the reg number for it. No MOT since July 15. But, it's done a mere 90k miles, so it's low mileage for an old Volvo and the MOT history looks pretty good.

Last one it passed, and previous fails were all for stupid things like wiper blades, brake lights and tyres.

I'm thinking it's well worth having a go at!
