I was very grumpy when Faceache took away the ability to automatically and privately upload photos to the site. I found it a really convenient way to essentially back-up photos on my phone, especially as I'm always short on memory so have to regularly delete photos to make space. No doubt you still can, with the specific app, but fuck them and their "separate apps for everything" approach that they've had for the past couple of years. Same with messenger.

Anyway I'm grinning because I've discovered Google Drive, which i use for more or less the same thing but in a more deliberate way, has been quietly backing-up photos from my phone too! I could complain about an app quietly accessing my phone but it's so damn useful I won't.

@darkfour:  Dart is lovely.  When did you last have your wheels balanced?

I was delighted to find the missing timing chain cover bolts for the Renault just now.  They were sat in the same place they've been sat for weeks... on my desk. The desk I spend at least 8 hours a day sat at working.  I am a tool.

Pulled this thankfully obsolete junction out from under the floorboards upstairs, been there 100 years, that's lead coated wiring and a metal cover to keep the electricals from the twisted connections safely contained.

Circuit diagram on the reverse, what treasure.

I am sure for some people it's a genuine mistake, but the they tend to be apologetic not abusive when said mistake is discovered.

As a flash tw@ with my name on my plate it's pointless trying to avoid VED. Mind you changing my name by deedpoll each car change is a PITA.

Bit strange at the moment being known as SO05 MUF !

It's good, isn't it? You must have opted in at some point as that setting reverts to off each time you set up a new phone, but I always tell folk to turn it on....

You can also go into the photos app and search by date, location, or what's in the picture. Look:

It's scarily good, all done by machine learning. Those two pictures of signposts have an Audi in the background :-)

Doing some auditing of parts cost, vehicle availability and breakdowns today at work. It turns out that of the 15 or so coaches we own, the most reliable is a 1992 Leyland Tiger and the least reliable a 2007 Scania.

They really don't make them like they used to...

You're obviously wrong, well known Scania products are the epitome of reliability....

Had it still been on fleet the most expensive of the lot was a 2007 Iveco EuroRider, but it's away now... Scania to go next!

Evilbay now sells branded evilbay packaging!

Good to see they're as incompetent as ever, how do you put a 6 x 4 address label on this and not cover up the ebay logo?

Doh, hadn't noticed it was wrong way round. Still won't be buying any, why would you want to pay to have steal me written on the envelope?

Surely any Jiffy bag implies "steal me" ?

Are they cheaper than usual?

Anything via ebay seems at least 100% more likely to fall off the sorter, I did think this was due to a large number of light fingered buyers but have had it with recorded stuff and people I've dealt with for years too..

Just made an omelette with some spicy tinned sardines from the Indian shop lobbed in it. I'm pleased to report that it was FRICKIN DELICIOUS.
