That's got a white plate, which generally means it's a Private Hire rather than a taxi- even though it does say taxi on the plate. They can only do pre-booked hires rather than being hailed in the street, and the rules for them are less strict.

I've just logged on Faceache and found this advert for a Corsa. There was four pictures of the car, here are all of them:

On holiday in Spain at the moment. Seen a lancia ypsilion and another old small lancia. Had a taxi back from town today. Thought it was an old citroen synergy until i seen the badge on the steering wheel. What model would that be? Same dash as a old citroen/peugeot and all switch gear

I think 90% of vehicles for sale on Facebook are Corsas, Astras or Vectras. I know they sold shit loads of them but there's fucking gazillions of them on there.

I got out on a drive and back without anything falling off.

Saw a red Avantime near the England-Scotland border today. No pics but it looked wonderful.

All those pics seem to contain a portly/tattoed/oddly dressed person seemingly trying to get things to work.... Corsas innit?

Much happier today,on diet thursday, then no food at all from 7 am friday,Then nasty picolax enema at 2 pm,only clear liquid till having a colonospcopy this morning.

Had my first food fo over 24 hours few minutes ago when i had beans on toast.

Everything is totally clear so thats a huge worry off my mind.

Pleased to hear that your colonoscopy results were of the right kind, but your post reminds me of a hugely amusing thread about Picolax that I am sure was linked to on this very forum some time back.  Anyone have a link to that?

After a few minutes fooling around I found it here.

I was driving through Castle/Church Gresley this morning and was delighted to drive past the infamous abandoned car lot. As I drove up the hill I'd convinced myself it would be torn down and redeveloped. There are only 3 cars left now though a Rover 200/400, a mk3 Cavalier and a Meastro I think. One sad day it will be gone, but not yet. It really does look a mess now though - 3/4 years ago it almost looked like could still be in business, but not now. In fact I remember a thread on here when the cars were for sale.

The Rover 200/400 is actually a Mk1 820. I really wznt to buy that car to save it but it just ain't gonna happen sadly. Even the 800 lot won't put thier hands in thier pockets.

It's good some of the cars have been moved (hopefully sold, not nicked) as when I went last there was a massive crack in the back wall and it looked the the roof wasn't far from succumbing to gravitational pull. I was considering a trip back (lol, it's ten minutes away) but it sounds like there's not much to see.

My pressure washer finally died a few months ago, probably from being frozen solid for the past 3 winters, pulsed like a bastard for the past 2 years, and died 3 months ago

This came today

Brand new, had to assemble it and everything. build date Sept 2014, all the bits from my old one fit perfectly. Better than £70 on a whole one! I can clean cars again!!

Might tear my broken one down and see why it died.

Was round local shops & noticed council parking enforcement cctv car parked almost out of sight opposite, noticed movement behind it and saw a couple of kids letting the tyres down while driver was videoing parked cars.

They had the valves out of 3 tyres before he noticed.

Too slow they had gone by the time he got out.

£450 for the Xantia to be insured with me and Mike on the policy, pay nothing until the end of October.  Pretty chuffed with that.  And my Mk1 grille arrived in pristine condition ready to be repainted.

OFF TO HALFORDS PAINT AISLE!

Regarding the parking van: Why is that grin-worthy? I don't understand folk who see parking enforcement officers as 'the enemy.' If they're doing something about the selfish twats who seem to want to park immediately outside whichever shop they fancy, and don't give a toss about the problems they cause, then fair play to them! We had none in Aberystwyth for the best part of a year and it was terrifying just how selfish people can be.

I think it's the anonymous nature of the vans and the stealth tactics employed, where a foot based traffic warden might be a bit more human, listen to reason, or just be more visible.

Posted

It's grinworthy if the council are a bunch of cheating bastards who charge residents for the right to park on their own street, then let business owners and builders steal all the spaces and the ignore the complaints.

Well yes Tayne. I agree in those circumstances. None of which necessarily apply here. As for 'stealth' being an issue, that's just like people who complain that speed cameras are a stealth tax. No they're not. If you don't speed, you don't pay. That seems fair enough. Similarly, if you can't follow set instructions on how to park a car, don't complain if you get fined.

Necessarily.

Given the choice between Dave being a law breaking cad with scant regard for others whose happy to see the destruction of local government property and his local authority being a bit of a nightmare I'm willing to stand up for Dave on the basis of the good work he does here.

And since you've brought up speed cameras, i'd rather see better driver training, more police officers and proper road maintenance than the insulting "speed kills" message and cash cow cameras hidden behind bridge supports or on roads where someone's uncle's budgie once died of natural causes.

They have actually been in local paper for lurking round corner with camera raised so they can see local station & sending tickets to those who stop for 20 seconds to drop off and collect passengers at station.

Even ticketed some poor sod in a van when he stopped to let someone cross at zebra crossing.

Deserve all they get in my opinion. They even park on yellow lines or double park to catch people.

'What do you want for your birthday' she asked.

'Well Halfords are doing big socket spanner sets at half price and the biggest set is £150 so I'll have some money towards that please' I replied.

'Oh, if it's tools then just get them on the joint account, now what do you want for your birthday?'

'Um, ah, don't know.'

So today I went to Halfords and got myself
