What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Been doing 42 miles a day for the past 2 weeks in the XM and it's running better for it. Pottering at 60 down the m40, and 75 on the way up has the MPG sitting at 29.4, which it hasnt done since before christmas! Must give it a service this month or next, and do the brake pads!

Just put £30 in and its saying 264 miles left to go. Will see how accurate that is!

Boiler inspector came today and gave the engine I run the thumbs up, so summer can commence with an outing for Drive it Day methinks.  :-D

And I have actually made some progress on the Land Rover.

Neighbour has an unusual penchant for parking his car so that it looks like his and mine are kissing. I wonder what the lovechild would look like?

O to the Em to the mofo Gee!  Took the Princess for the first proper bit of driving since putting the new interior in and the driver's seat is unbelievably comfortable and supportive even.  I thought I had pretty good seats in but apparently they were just okay.

Workshop radio croaked, so after having a few near heart attacks at real electrical retailers remembered British heart foundation sells electrical stuff. £15 later and I have a genuine ghetto blaster with carrying handle n six month guarantee. Win.

I used to like old No. 37, went well, 39 was faster though!

I came acrossthis photo today and it made me a bit sad and smiley all at the same time..

Apparently the driver turned right and did not notice the transit coming. Speed limit there is 50 mph.

Some scrote has nicked the badges off my XM. There is a lot of inbreeding in our village and they are not very bright. He'll probably put them back when his mates have finished taking the piss. Mercedes badges are the ones you want you prat.

Shite spotting in Ludlow yesterday.

Sadly didn't spot the ex-DW Land Rover but there were a few other nice pieces such as a ZX estate, couple of early Mondeos and a lovely W124 in the car park I used.

Nice castle too, if you like that sort of thing.

Why are you breaking it?

400 miles in my Cav 1.8 LS this weekend and it's not missed a beat. :) Went past a few broken down new motors though!

His voice, surely, I've only ever heard him do one.

The same voice for Douglas Reynholm (IT Crowd), the Absolute Radio ident man, and also a geyser/volcano:

Don't forget Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. And the first series of The Mighty Boosh. Oh, and Toast Of London. Yep, all the same voice, pretty much.

And more recently House of Fools.

He does seem to do one act but he is a funny man.

Also Snuff Box.

He does play Matt Berry very well. I think he's a guest on Radcliffe and Maconie (without Radcliffe) this afternoon. I'll be interested to hear if he talks like that when he's off duty.

Why are you breaking it?

I mainly bought it for the engine and loom and the doors for one of my mate's, so the rest of it will hopefully help other novas live on, the shell isn't actually that bad it's got a hole in the bulkhead and will no doubt need other patches here/there but seems solid enough as a whole

^ Just having a look at that, and it's all terribly polite "Dear Sirs" etc, which is a grin in itself. God(s) only knows what they'd make of us rabble :-D
