TBF it’s not as far to Tipperary as they’d have you believe.

No pic, but was in Notting Hill last night and LOLed at a normal townhouse where the witty owner had swapped the plain glass above the front door with a pane that said "Stage Door".  Very funny.  I stood around with my autograph book out, but no one came out.

This private sector malarkey isn't too bad.  Just back from Twickenham in a fully-catered hospitality box to watch England vs. Japan courtesy of a vendor we're about to sign up with.  A very good day out indeed.

It should be at the prices they charge on top of the £100+ for a match ticket.

I used to get freebie rugby international  days at Murrayfield courteous of a subsidiary of an oil company. They took their clients to a nearby hotel with free bar because they considered the Murrayfield hospitality extortionately expensive.

The vendor in question just got a private equity investment and have the box for a year.

I haven't been to Twickenham for 16 years.  It's a great stadium and a fantastic atmosphere even when it's under capacity.  I do wish it (and Rugby in general) were more accessible.  The fact that the autumn internationals weren't on any terrestrial television is a travesty of short-sightedness by the RFU...

I used to get access to free tickets and a start line box at Silverstone, because the car hire company I worked for had it, and for the smaller events nobody wanted to go, things like truckfest when it was there, and some of the smaller race series.

Used to be a great day out, you could see all the toffs in the nextdoor boxes in their dj's and suits looking at us and thinking " how did those oiks get in there?" 😁

Just the ticket prices is ridiculous now. I was offered two tickets for the recent South Africa game at Twickenham. £109 each! They weren’t even the best seats.

It was 60p the first time I went. OK it was 1976 on a school trip , but that’s £4 in today’s prices.

...and it was still a sport rather than a commercial enterprise ... :)

Nice to be thanked

couple of months ago stuck a jacket on the grandparents hot water cylinder

theyve told me how grateful they are for it, apparently they’ve still got hot water the next morning after having the heating on overnight

they also thanked me for actually bothering with them, I’m the only one in the family who actually does
