When you set about to live honest it's always a let down that some folk are snide and underhand. Disappointing but unfortunately that's how life is.

It's only money. Started out with none and still got most of it left.

Found this on the market today. I don’t have an Atari 800, but it’s nice to see. Picked it up at a cost of 50p 😄

Just some guy cruising around in a beige, diesel R18 estate. Don't mind missing out on FOTU when I get to see this sort of thing in its natural habitat.

Were they the toast of the Games?

I did a bit of Asda shopping this morning, and when I got to checkout, found the bill was cheaper than I expected.  So I joked with the cashier that I should go back in and get some stuff for the Food Bank trolley.  And by the time I got to the car, I'd decided to do exactly that.  I spent less than half my own bill but felt so great going through the same checkout.  We had a bit of banter about it.

So I was a few minutes later leaving Asda than I would have been.  I decided to drop into the nearby charity shop in search of diecasts.  My timing was unusually brilliant, because I did the Food Bank shopping, as a chap saw me rooting in a box of cheap toys and opened conversation.  Seems he has inherited his late dad's toy/model car collection and wants to rehome it, or at least as much as possible.  I will, of course, be taking photos...

This should probably go in the 'grumpy' thread,  but...

I bought a very random item on eBay.  Says on the listing it'd be there 5-6 days later.  10 days later the vendor messages me

'You know I'm holiday, don't you?'

No, I didn't know.

'Oh, I'll ask someone at home to post it for me'.

Countless emails ensue with two 'proof of postage' photos.

This proof of postage obscured the date, the details of where it was being sent didn't match and it said they were returns to a shop.

'Oh, sorry. must have got wrong receipt'

Send me another photo. This photo has no tracking number, no company name, nothing.

'The Post Office took it' and then when asked for the actual tracking number, mysteriously 'The Post Office don't take parcels that size, it went through DPD'

Numerous requests for a tracking number and proof DPD have it.

'Sorry, that wasn't the receipt'

Ask again for tracking number.

'It's on that receipt, which is the right one not the wrong one'

'Has it arrived yet?' (x about 10)

Opened a dispute so today he send me 'proof' of tracking, which is now Fed Ex and the tracking number doesn't exist.

'Has it arrived yet?'

And eventually it did, this afternoon.  With the receipt. The receipt which was clearly purposely stuck to the package and quite well sellotaped on.

And what did said receipt say?

Thank you for eating at McDonald's

407, Bradford Road,

Brighouse

1 BBQ  bacon crispy wrap

1 Mayo chicken

1 med fries

1 med coke

No heated seats though! Even my basey base base 850 with the same drivetrain had those! There's not even switch blanks for them!

Fantastic things.

Saw one on the M6 a while ago with livery for a hotel in Scotland. Never managed to track down what hotel it was but in my head it's on an island and guests are collected from the station in the mighty Dutton.

Rear facing child seats!! Bonus!

Utterly useless as a childless bloke in his 20s, but when I was small dad had a Renault Savannah estate with third row seats and I used to love sitting in them for some reason.

Once I've taken the wheels out of the boot I'll unfold the seats and see if my lanky arse will fit in them.

My daughter and I were fitting some plastic boards into the rear of her company XC90 last weekend, needed to slide coffins in for transportation, and corpses from hospitals and other funeral directors.

In the process she discovered a third row of seats that nobody knew were there.

The Dutton amphibian.  Only seen one, I think it was a Dutton.  Cruising around Whitby harbour.  My dad, worked at the shipyard there, was having to do something with it and was quite impressed.

Would have been early sixties.

Your story is better than mine, mine is "looking at pictures of my own car online" yours is "outfitting a corpsemobile"

That's the one! Excellent.

I saw it near Carlisle so he had a way to go.
