Puzzled me too - is there a roadworks hole behind it or does it reverse into an oncoming car?

That's awesome.Looks like the Shado 2 mobile from UFO but on wheels.I wonder if it has a bfo rocket launcher hidden in the roof.

Maybe long gone
This was spotted in England in 1998. We could only find one reference to it and that was that it was torched by vandals sometime after 2000

Would be any use to me if it was , I couldn't afford the upkeep of the garden let alone the house.

Found him! Had landed in someone's back garden and got found by their dog but not touched! They, via their daughter in Surrey Cross posted on Facebook all afternoon with me and eventually my next door neighbor connected the dots and he was up by the school!

Had a second cry today, but a happier one this time

I know they're more likely to be off a '57 Chevy or similar, but what came to mind when I saw those headlight trims was 'TRIUMPH HERALD!'

A video on this thing (the Merlin-engined SD1 that used to be in PPC regularly)  just popped up on my Youtube suggestions.  The fact that it exists at all is incredible, but to be road legal as well?  The grin part for me today is mainly just seeing that ridiculous number where there would normally be a figure ~90% lower.

After a long time (embarrassingly too long) laid up gathering dust, I'm in the process of getting my Sceptre back on the road and it's in a garage for some work.

Will find the old thread and provide a proper update in due course, but in the meantime I popped in yesterday and got this photo. Enjoyed being able to compare the  Ford, BL and Rootes approach to “high end cars” in the mid-70s side by side like that.
