What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Is that for real , pedestrians get parking tickets , my sister went , they had to do the gondola , because romantic , they went down 3 back canals round the block , on to the grand canal which was very choppy then back, about 30 minutes , I'm sure she said it was €80

Better to get a one day ticket on the ACTV water buses. It's €20 per person and includes the trips out to the islands in the lagoon, but doesn't include the trip to the airport. It does include the ferry out to Punta Sabbioni which is near the lagoon entrance,if you're staying on the coast to the North.

They also make good boats.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that these were *equipped with a hole in the floor to allow you to do ice-fishing from the heated comfort of the front seat. It might have been a gag though; it's hard to tell with sovbloc motors, they did things differently.

The hole in the floor might have been from when a factory worker or two had a "disagreement" between each other.

From what I’ve read recently ( venice based crime fiction that was quite good really) there’s a base charge of €80 for a minimum trip. When I was there we used the vaporetto and walked. Gondolas were always horrendously expensive.

Pedestrians are being told to move on from “paid for” areas eg Florian’s cafe frontage in st mark’s square.

You were always moved on, but now they’re fining you.

I've found it more fun to wander the backstreets away from the main tourist areas.Cannareggio is comparatively unfrequented.

We ended up in the backstreets as we always do. It certainly ain’t no Rome, Florence, Naples etc. Did find a decent restaurant but if you can’t do that in Italy you need to be shot.

The Brazilians got the Marea 20V Turbo, this one has been lightly tuned, to 767 BHP.

The ending was brilliant.

The simple task of leaving the fucking thing alone seems to have fixed it.

I've not run it to full temperature yet.

When I do the results will probably be in the grumpy thread...

Cool bonnet arrangement there.

Can you blow through the line into the tank from the engine end with an airline?

Any old pump should do from an injection engine, plenty available from the breakers.

I'll give the blowing through the lines a go, when I have a day off which is warm enough that I can feel my hands so I can work out how the fuel line clips under the bonnet come apart.

I'd love a pilot of that, it looks as crazy as a box of frogs in party hats

I bet it's purely a coincidence* he's not been flagged up for that.

I was thinking he's probably had an "Oh shit" moment when it popped up on the system

Nah, I bet he only noticed last Thursday when he went to tax it. Police ANPR doesn't seem to bother with MoT status if the first week of the month rush of people whose test ran out ages ago is anything to go by.

It passed I assume?

Or did it have 4 dodgy tyres and brake pads made of wood?

Not my best footage. But I can't be bothered to mute the audio.... So it's an iPhone job.

I did that in a 4.0 litre S Type once , I set the cruise to 30mph on a stretch in Warrington that's known to have the camera van on it , Sunday morning early, wet road , nothing about so I thought I'd have a go at the roundabout on cruise , going in was ok , coming out not so much , luckily nothing about for me to hit

The road was greasy tbf.

...

I've done it once on a wet roundabout. Luckily didn't hit anything.

My first (and only) crash was this slide on a roundabout! Tbh looking back I only hit the barrier because I didn't notice the slide start, had a few moments since but driving fwd cars I've managed to drop a gear, power out then light a rolly...

I remember calling my stepdad (2am on a Sunday morning as you do when your just passed) and he came out to help me, drove round the roundabout himself probably twice as fast as I'd slid off at to get to me and commented 'ooh that's a bit greasy isn't it, now what the fuck have you done here? I've bought some cable ties...'

My first Capri, a nice metallic gold (deffo NOT brown) and the pentagon island in Derby, beat everyone away from the light on a damp morning, then three times around and ended up facing the wrong way and had all the ‘slow’ cars parting like the Red Sea to go past me. That car taught me a hell of a lot.

I did that in the Civic, no more than 10-15mph, the car just swapped ends. No idea if the road was greasy or something...

Almost brought my breakfast up this morning with excitement, when was the last time you saw either one of these on the road, let alone together!
