Should take my mind off of Volvo T5 coupe autos for a while.

Unfortunately couldn't afford to go but slightly compensated by B17 Sally B twice flying over my house at about 500 foot.

Hopefully again tomorrow.

Only had iphone so crap pics

Not sure if a grin or a grump so here it is. Sitting on the balcony having a quiet beer stopped under me is a Rover 600 with Honda Civic badge's on the rear.

Rod Latter, the drummer in the Maniacs and Adverts was a friend at school.

Looking Through Gary Gilmore's Eyes was a punk classic.

Today, I have mostly been stealing wheels from an old friend.

And getting caught out by contrast. Either that or I polished the XM too much.

The poor thing.

As to you yor new Dyane was it previously owned by Tim Dodd? I have an early London to Brighton video of him driving one camouflaged with a tank gun-turret made out of a washing machine.

Chompy was improving* his exhaust and chose not to use the angle grinder in case he hurt himself.  There's a certain amount of irony to the fact that the point he went through the pipe with the hacksaw he also almost chopped through his finger on the sharp edge of metal.  Luckily I have some first aid knowledge so he now has 4 temporary stitches and a bandage to keep his finger in one piece and help it heal up.  Any normal person would have then gone to A&E to make sure all was well, but instead Chompy insisted we help him finish his exhaust - which we did - so he could drive home after he'd been made to sit down with a coffee and painkillers.  So that was an exciting event today.

Currently in the Peak District for a medical do.

Going from one venue to the next in a 64 plate 7000 mile transit minibus.

Bang... Hiss... Chug chug chug.

Driver pulls over in a valley in buttfucknowhere in the middle of the moors.

Medical friends start to get twitchy.

Jump out, crawl under the front to find the intercooler to manifold boost hose has popped off. Resecure it's jubilee clip with a metal ruler, a keyring and a small flathead lent by a kind northern passerby.

Manage to limp to the next town before it pops off again right outside a pub.

Trip saved.

Why was the boost hose loose on a 6 month old bus?

Early start tomorrow - I've got to drive up to Crewe in the van to pick up a barely-alive motorcycle.  That's a 450 mile round trip.  Yes, I'm an idiot.

So, last week whilst at BL day we came up with a crazy plan to get Cortinaboy's Morris Marina back on the road ready for next year's show.

The car belonged to his work colleagues dad who bought it new in 1972, who used it for a following 73000 miles before parking it up in 1987. A couple of years ago Cortinaboy bought it, dragged it out of the garage, got it back to his workshop, poked it a bit and then lost heart in it due to rust.

With a new found mojo boost and help from a few of us we went to the workshop and dragged it out.

Pushed it outside and pumped the tyres up when the full mission ahead of us dawned on us!

It's a bit rusty!

It was like this both sides, this side was made fully from fiberglass! The front valance is non existent.

This lot was from out of the sills!

No great! Still it's all patchable and my other mate can weld and has offered to do it for free so that's half the battle, we even got it running and it runs pretty sweet to be fair, it needs a new fan blower fitted as the old ones seized hence the dash being out.

This Oldsmobile is also in the workshop, it's a real beauty, it has a touch screen TV in the dash!

Jeepers. Trig. This photo looks like it was taken in 1981! I love it.

I've absolutely no idea of the Dyane's history, other than that it last belonged to a farmer in Montgomeryshire. I am so buzzing about Monday though. Plan is get up horribly early, drive to Wiltshire, tinker with Dyane, drive home. Not with Dyane, as it still needs an MOT and I still need the V5. EXCITED.

That oldsmobile is all kinds of awesome, I want it

The Olds is class in a glass, it's called a Oldsmobile Toronado Troféo with a Buick 3.8 V6, it's sounds great and everything is electric, even the boot opens electrically! It needs to go back on the road again but it belongs to another lad who rents the workshops and he's got himself a bird now so he's lost interest in his cars for now.

Ha! Well that's the plan, we won't be making it pretty, it's basically going to be made road legal and just used as a runabout, keeping it's orginal patina.

Marina love is good.

That Olds is really neat.

God, that sounded a bit American didn't it.

Bloody hell, still has the ACME Leopard print seat covers - UBER cool

Looking forward to the progress with marina Trig.

The new drive belt arrived for the disco and I managed to fit it without removing the fan or radiator which makes me some kind of mechanic God.

Now I need to decide whether to sell it or the A4. I need space and money so some stuff has to go, maybe an allegro and a series Land Rover too.

That Marina is all kinds of right, shame about the rust though...

Good luck with it!

What a great Sunday trip. I did a 900 mile round trip to collect a (admittedly nice) bike for a mate who I was not 100% sure he was going to have. He did have it though.

I'm off to North Weald in a few minutes for the Ultimate Street bike reunion meeting. Looks like a good day will be had.

I am too excited by these.  I'm so happy they exist.  I'm not buying them because I'm broke but OMG they'd go on the Rover AND the Princess.  Amazing.

Put 1300 miles on Saab this week and it had decided to reward me by shedding one of its petrol tank straps.
