Which is absolutely stupid, as 7 pins are for the lights, and the other extra pins in the 13 socket are for battery charging, fridge and reversing lights on a caravan 😆 all vital to road safety!

The MOT test needs a complete overhaul...

There is no Agreed Defined Standard (e.g. BSnnnn ) for the 7 Pin system, so you can't test against the Standard.

(same for the even older 3 Pin System).

13 Pin System has a Defined Standard, so can be tested.

(Agreed that the MoT system is a mess )

I would say Granada because of vinyl roof and alloy wheels.

Today I was waved across the road by a Jaecoo! That's a first. It was this white one in fact.

Our local Volkswagen dealer has started doing these too now. They've been doing Omoda for a couple of months, they even have proper Omoda signage which wasn't there a little while back, they just had a big banner.

They only seem to have two cars in stock at any one time parked where these two are, nicely under the big VW logo, but they seem to change quite regularly. I've never seen any in the showroom.

Still not a peep from the insurance or the "accident management company" about the Ampera.  I'm sure it's just the usual slow communication chain but it's adding to my stress levels (which are high at the moment anyway) - the Ampera is the single most expensive thing I've ever bought in my life, and the fact that I currently have neither the car nor any money for it is niggling me.  I'm going to try and see if I can get hold of a human at the AMC tomorrow to find out if they've actually done anything.

To their credit, the management company got back to me within a few hours of me messaging them.  Apparently the information has been passed on to the insurer and they are currently assessing the claim to ascertain whether it is in fact a total loss.  I'll give them a few days to ponder then contact them directly if I haven't heard anything.

Bright and sunny today which is a rarity of late. Really enjoyed the drive through town.

Did a short hop of M4/25/40 the pulled a ff at Beaconsfeild for self sufficient coffee and lunch break. It's quite nice down the end by the woods which are also useful for a piss.

Decided at that point what with the sunshine and sublime handling of Partdingo i'd avoid the 40 and Oxford too taking a cross country route for the rest of the journey.

Loads of nice towns and twisty roads added about an hour on my journey and many smiles per gallon too.

Am sure there's more than a few folk who are surprised to be overtaken by something they thought they left for dead in the traffic light gp.

Would love to 2ltr gti this thing though time, money and points not gaining prizes all go against the idea.

The longer they keep it, the higher the storage charge, the more they want to pay you off.

I bought a better trailer. The old one I had the hitch seized up, couldn't get it off, and the brake cables were broken. It cost me 6/700 and was good ish for 5 years.  Got 200 for it and bought this one for 1200. Seller wanted 1500.

Obvious «they won’t get very far» joke is obvious…

Very specialized/easily recognisable vehicle to steal, though?

Looks bloody decent that. Should give many many miles of trouble free hauling. Might want to chain that spare on. Ours went missing twice off our ifor as was just bolted on. A mate of mine lets the air out of his and that seems to do the trick too. Just need to remember to pack the pump!

Bizarrely (or not so, to those better informed), it would cost more for the towbar of the E61 to be removed as they'd have to scavenge for parts to properly do it.

If you want to save a bit of money and never use the towbar, just remove the electrical socket, what is not fitted cannot be tested. If you want to keep the towbar functional, remove the 13 pin and fit a 7 pin socket.

It's probably either in a container at the docks or being dismantled right now.

At least it's found and not a burnt out shell. Tbh going by it's current orientation and condition, I'm surprised it's not.

Maybe they didn't realise it was electric. It looks like they pushed it off a truck without the ramps out.

The misery these people cause is immense.

Comments are that it was spotted driving  around newtown with no lights and police called. Someone has been arrested - sounds like kids?

Aye - sounds like good old fashioned TWOCing by teenagers. Sad, annoying, but ever thus.

A timely reminder for all to look at preventative measures.

Wonder how they got it into that position in such a narrow lane with banks either side.

New OSF balljoint on the Saab today. The rattling from the NSR was the brake pad bouncing about in the carrier. Bit annoying that I didn't think of that as I could have easily sorted that myself! The noise was fucking irritating though so glad it's sorted.
