No, this is the one I got from JohnK a couple of years back (the one I took to Shitefest).

Ghosty's old Prelude is staying with me.

Ah. I happened to come across your advert the other day when browsing Facebook on cars for sale.

I believe @Ghosty has money burning a hole in his pocket after selling the Jag and is on the lookout for something. Iirc he said that he likes Preludes a lot and as he was experiencing car trouble, thought I'd point him in your direction. ;)

Only single change at Birmingham train station when going from Manchester to Bristol Temple Meads too.

I took the Tangerine Dream to tesco.

A guy in a red Panda dynamic coming the other way moved his head.... 170 degrees to have a look. His reaction was funny.  ?

Bumble bees almost never sting. Unless you do something really stupid.

So when they sting her and she dies, you can say "that is strange they don't normally sting"

Full service done including cambelt and water pump. Anything slightly suspect has been replaced. Back on the road tomorrow, can't wait! Now to get rid of the Merc so this can have it's parking spot.IMG_20200531_121311.thumb.jpg.e39eb4e7cc575c75a2b6af1f23ab4d11.jpgIMG_20200531_121239.thumb.jpg.b850060d99d2a1b2566aeecfb1178a4c.jpg

Two blokes dressed like the stig doing his gardening and a stuffed dinosaur are about to mark the first ever commercial manned space flight by docking with the ISS. What a time to be alive.

Oil changed, it's made a difference to the shifts. Gonna do it again in a week or so.

The dipstick is under the air filter housing. Logical...

Anyone ever bought off here?

No, never heard of them. If I look for MGB parts though, I just get a bunch of items that are listed on eBay. It's like they order it off eBay for you and combine the items into a single package. Or it's fraudulent and they take your money but you never get it.

Seen a car I really want but it's in sodding Barnstaple. Devon's a pain at the best of times.

Good price too.

I had to laugh in that they made it from the pad to the station seamlessly...but could they get the wired voice comms to work between one side of the door to the other?  Nope...took them an hour to kick that into behaving.  Nice to know some things in orbit are identical to down here!

I live there.  Happy to help if you need.

I'll keep that in mind, as I've messaged the seller to enquire about it. I know I like them as I've already had two of them, and three unrelated cars with derivatives of the same engine derivative, just not one in this getup.

Update, the seller already got back to me, he's open to near offers and will hold it for a month for £100 non refundable.

I'm sorely tempted as it'll stop me pissing the money away.
It's a very early Volvo 960 3.0. 125k, cambelt done, new discs and pads, recent oil and filter, all mod cons and Caramac leather.
It's £995.

No, I've only had the one 306.
It's an H plate 960 - one of the very first whiteblocks.

Oh yes lovely, I guess "white block" is the straight 6 3.0 24v? I was selling these new working for a Volvo dealer.

I am thinking 306 because I am hoping this week to get my 306 fixed and back on the road.

Yes it is, whiteblock is one of the names for the Volvo Modular Engine, the 850/960 four, five or six cylinder engine that evolved into, amongst other things, the D5 my C30 has, and lasted in some form until the mid-2010s.

Sounds like a deal to me! Do it. Volvos suit you.

Sounds like a decent deal to me.  Drop me a PM if I can do anything useful, I think I might even have seen the car around, there's not many of those round here but there's a chap in town who had a small collection of them including a stretched hearse/ambulance one at one point.

Got very little done on the fleet over the weekend.  Mostly because I was playing with bicycles, but also partly because of a mild dose of CBA, and because my V70 is a twat.

I decided I was going to try and fix the "tailgate open" warning message.  Looking on the Volvo forums the most common cause seems to be a broken wire where the loom passes through the hinge.  So I removed about a dozen bits of interior trim, unwrapped the electrical tape and pushed the insulation back for a look, but (surprisingly for a 250K-mile car) all the wires are fine.

Next up was the microswitch in the locking mechanism.  Except I decided I couldn't be arsed to remove the lock, so I thought I'd try and fool the car into thinking the tailgate was closed.  When it's open the microswitch is also open resulting in an open circuit, so I thought that if I just earthed the signal wire to ground that'd sort the issue.  There's only four wires running to the lock - two yellow wires which are part of the central locking circuit, a grey power wire and a pink wire which does the boot light.  This was the only obvious candidate for the boot open warning  - if the boot light is on then the tailgate's open so it'd make sense to use the same wire for both.  Except that shorting that wire to earth made no difference.  I was obviously being far too naïve in expecting it to be a simple solution involving a single wire - as far as I can tell Canbus wiring is like fugging quantum mechanics, with every single bloody wire existing in several states at once.  So that was a waste of a couple of hours.

I did get a nice thick coat of underseal on the Innocenti's new subframe though, so hopefully it'll last a bit longer than it would if I'd left it in primer.  Didn't get time to start trying to fit it though so that's a job for another weekend.
