If you've explicitly asked him not to do it, paint the posts with engine oil.

It'll kill everything green for meters.

Next door and the bloke at the end have been bodging up a snapped post on their side for a few hours. The panels between me and the neighbor are hanging on in there. It's my fence but I can call a magic number if it all comes down.

The windmill from chitty chitty bang bang over in Turville is broken though

Repaired the one panel...ten minutes later...

Dammit!  The bits I repaired are still there...the rest of the panel has just disintegrated around it.  The trees battering it from the other side (Council's) haven't helped.

Just spent an hour on the roof of the shed as the felt on there decided to part company with it so have nailed it back down for now.  It'll leak like a sieve but not as bad as if I let the felt head off to Norway.

Then just spotted this.

...and this.

Gimme a sodding break already...

Just had to shore up flappy plastic glazing panel in lean-to as timber disintegration accelerated by wind and movement. Plus phone call from tenant to say a tile has pinged off roof - that can sodding wait till it dies down.

I've lost a wood frame that goes round our chimney pots on the roof. Not sure what it's purpose was, but it was rotten and now it's off.

Chances of getting down to my daughter's rural school near Ashford tomorrow are not good, bet there's blockages all over.

I have now been forced to stop scrambling around duct taping and stapling the house back together as I have been bodily immobilised.

She does not like the fact that the weather is making noise and making the floor shake so has decided to come and hide with me.  It has been made very clear that I am not permitted to move for a while.

It's that windy here it blown the locks off the gas meter. And it's blown all the fifty pence pieces away.

The sheep have run for cover now, and my Belfast Ceramic Sink housing a rosemary plant has blow over, no mean feat as it’s probably 50kg!

No thankfully, but it did mean that i had to go outside and get wet to recover it.

My mum said that their next door neighbours keter bin sized storage box blew out of the drive and into the main road. She saw it walking back from church this morning and driver’s were just swerving around it (30 limit) but none stopped to move it. So she, a 4ft10 75yr old grandmother dragged it onto the pavement. And still no one stopped to help.

@Zelandeth welder and oil in the sitting room I see! Living the dream!

This room is sort of a second lounge, and being a dead end at the very back of the house it tends to inevitably be the room where all miscellanea accumulates.  It's a bloody tip to be honest and needs clearing from top to bottom.

It also contains a comfy chair and my stereo which as far as I'm concerned are the important things!

Is there a catering service whilst you're trapped in there?

Bin collection day is Tuesday but the noisy twats nextdoor have left their green bin out. It was on it's side in the middle of the road half an hour ago. Most of the their rubbish has been recycled in to my front garden............Twats.

Busy weekend here smashing up a Bora for parts.

Anyone need anything? It’s off to be a coffee table on Saturday.B2780C21-D534-46C9-B553-AF4C118FB302.thumb.jpeg.3d06bec81109a6b64c5b2add13415a30.jpeg

And then there was two!IMG_20200209_163251.thumb.jpg.1ada4ddb4448ccd575f9fadca93be7a9.jpg

Original plans have changed as it's definitely not a breaker. Drove great down the flooded roads getting battered by the high winds. The roof rack sang nicely. A very quick inspection reveals solid floors and sills. Although something has definitely died in there judging by the smell. While searching for temporary insurance I found a great app called Cuvva. 3 hours insurance for nine quid!

Always tells me my cars (or prospective cars) are too old...!

Gotta love a C15.  They're such charming (and bloody useful) things.

Just found a bit of further damage.  The flashing on the return above the front door has been peeled like a can of ham.

The rot in the ends of the beam (the weight is thankfully fully supported a couple of feet further up and the rot is relatively localised - and mainly because the previous owners never bloody maintained anything).  Will need to get up there once the wind drops to bash it back into shape.

Oh...and clear the drain again judging from the greenery.  I emptied that damned drain just before Halloween!

Edit: Oh...and the RCD just tripped.  Yay!

Walking out the flat today to brave Storm Ciara to go up the Aldi, I noticed one of these in the car park. I know they have a bit of a fussy design, but I think in brown it looks great! 75a3ac6b2481e8e9e3848022348198c5.jpg

windy and wet here but it's Torquay so no change!  Just God has turned the volume up a bit. Chester has only just gone out, he really doesn't like the rain and when its flying straight at him, he likes it even less!

To be fair, he's not alone. I'm not a fan of flying wheely bins and bits of tree/fence trying to take my head off while walking the dog!
