There's someone on here with a 1l k11 auto, I'd imagine it's probably comparable, and I seem to recall them defending how it drives against preconceptions.

If they're anything like a Figaro, miserable.

Schwinng! Is that on Compomotive MOs? One of my favourite wheels.

Thread please, I love these!

Yes they are Compomotive's, quite a few GTA's were fitted with aftermarket wheels due to the horrendous cost of the original 255 45 15's (£350 a pop). I think these really suit the car. Edit you can still get the Michelin's! £430 each now though.

I have an old Renault Alpine thread somewhere which I will dig out and update.

I’ve been redoing the Cortina wheels. I think I’ve been watching to much smokey and the bandit. I’ve still got the back two to do and I’m running the risk of them looking shite in the car.

I've got a few of those, look nothing like yours for more than five minutes though.

I wonder if the staff of Daily Post Wales actually even work in Wales?

An interesting theory, and one not exactly challenged by this article I've just been reading. Fairly sure the Britannia Bridge is, and always has been, single carriageway in each direction. Certainly was when I crossed a couple of days ago. And every time for the last 15 years :?

I paid a tenner for mine.  Plus commission, so 35 quid.

When it originally built it was trains only with them.going through a cast iron tunnel. Which caught fire.

When they rebuilt it with the arch they put the road way on top. Yes it's single track in each direction. No I've never driven over it at twice the speed limit, not in the dark or the rain at 4 am

Not ever. USUALLY go over the other bridge as I like to pop into Waitrose and buy my mum flowers and my dad nothing.

I prefer the Menai Bridge generally, slip roads coming onto Britannia are fairly short and seem to lack a bit of visibility. Quite often some warrior making it difficult to get on, particularly if you're not keen to break the speed limit to nip past. I believe 2mph over will land you in jail here.

On the off chance anyeone is coming over today Britannia Bridge is now closed completely due to windz.

The 145 has been in to the local garage for a bit of paintwork to make it just lovely. Not the Autoshite way I know, but this old tub is so nice it deserved it.

I’m happy with the colour match, and they’ve asked for it back in 3 weeks to flat and polish, so all good then.

Trouble is the rest of the fleet now looks tatty and I’ve started talking to them about painting the GTV.......oooo slippery slope...

This is certainly not something to take through airport security...

Hopefully with my improvements* this will last enough time till I get my CSI ignition unit sorted. Disconnected the switch, sorted the resistors on the LEDs to actually make them light up, fresh thermal heatsink compound on the drive IGBT transistor, resistor across the points to provide a load (helps keep them clean), rubber gromited the hole for the wires and gave the through hole components a good load of hot melt glue to stop them falling off from vibration!

Hopefully will mean that the constantly closing up points on my MGB become a bit less of an issue. At least until they properly and eventually bed in.

Well that didn't last long. The 75 is broken already after owning it for 3 weeks. The starter motor solenoid is toast, which is exactly what happened with my previous 75. I have a rebuild kit for it but finding the time and a gap in the rain is proving difficult. I have a feeling I'll end up buying something else if I don't get it fixed soon.

Here it is in the naughty corner of my drive, which is exactly where the last one sat regularly as well.

172 providing daily duties for now.

Mine did that - it was the starter solenoid, a favourite 75 failure I believe. A rebuild kit from the internet was about a tenner and such an easy job even I managed to do it right first time.

I've just been and collected the 405 from where it's been on loan and had a nice wafty journey home. Fresh with a shiny new MOT.

The only slight* issue was some strange shenanigans (from the alarm I think) flashing lights, locking and unlocking the doors on its own.

I thought it might be because it had been standing for a few days with the battery disconnected.

Does anyone know anything about French/405 electircs? Is this something I can ignore or fix with wire cutters?

It's only doing this now because I was thinking of selling it.

Excellent, good to know it's not a hard job, I want to go out for a family walk tomorrow afternoon.

Is there a button on the dash near the ignition that you've always wondered what it did? The ZX has one and after I'd disconnected and reconnected the battery and had flashing headlights and stuff going on, I found out that if you press and hold it down as you turn the key in the ignition, it stops all of the flashing of lights etc.. It may take more than one go.

Edit: here's the button in the ZX.
