Just seen a YouTube video:

"Isn't it interesting that they take 6 months to fill a pothole, but chopped down ulez cameras get put back up the same day?"

According to my mechanic friend in Hampton the camera  off the sunbury roundabout a308 road was cut down and not replaced.

It's because it's run by Capita - in effect privately run. They may be able to see how much each camera generates. There is also probably a service level agreement with TfL. It's all very secret - the location of the cameras is secret.

A pot hole - nothing in it for anybody let the pleb's suffer.

Sat in a pub garden near Tewkesbury today and a Volvo 142 went past. I never even knew that was a thing. I've googled them and they all seem to come up LHD. Were they sold over here?

It was matt black and had 999 in the reg. Unfortunately I couldn't catch the rest, it wasn't hanging around. It looked a bit like this.

The ones I remember were 144's, often cabs, and 145 estates - but  I think I have seen 2dr ones

Yes,142s were definitely a thing. Medium to large 2 door cars were popular in Germany as well.VW_Passat_B2_3-door_in_Brown_front_left.jpg.a9e01bfffb06347041fb91355ab17698.jpgopel-rekord-2-door-side-riksettanrallyt-2015-1-88768.jpg.7f31be64cb860ef99ddd8962062b9ee2.jpg

Been wandering around the Cotswolds for a couple of days.

Ledbury, found a mk1 Fabia.

Great Malvern Priory

Miserable day. Not actually raining but the cloud was so low we had to drive through it as we came into Great Malvern. There was actually more hill behind those trees at the top of the picture.

And the view from the top would have been very impressive on a clear day. Spot the Škoda.

Every so often I have the realisation that there are cars (and other objects) that will be 100 years old within my lifetime, that will forever feel "not that old" to me because they were still kicking about in reasonable numbers when I was little.

I remember being somewhat put off at classic car shows how many late 70s cars there were, because there were still quite a few hanging on in daily use around me.

I stopped going to classic car shows when I stopped saying “my Dad had one of those”, and started saying “I had one”.

Goodness me, I’d never thought of it like that, but you’re right. I walk around telling my sons I had a Cortina, Manta, Cavalier like that🙁

Certainly sold over here initially as my dad had one, on a F or G reg. I can’t imagine Volvo GB sold that many as it was a 2 dr but not a coupe like a Capri or Alfa/Lancia and most of the other cars in the ‘2 litre’ class were only available as 4 dr saloons - Rover, Triumph, Zephyr/Zodiac, Pug 504 etc.

UK definitely never got the 242 officially, although no doubt there were personal imports. We did get the Bertone 262 Coupe with the chopped roof though.

I haven't been to one in years, but even in the mid 2000s when I was 10 or so, there was already stuff like 205s there, and I indeed have one of those now.

I'd wager that mk4 golves are going to start showing up soon, I had one of those too.

To be honest part of why I don't go anymore is because over the years I've become less interested in cars generally, I only really care about my own and those of people I know (which includes people here, obviously)

It does make moving the cars about a lot easier in that facility. 👍

Yes, '73 manual roadster in BRG with red interior and the flattest flat spot just off idle that would see you blow it off in the traffic light Grand Prix with your 2CV!
