Well, a package has finally arrived from ECP, hopefully containing the Outback's new droplinks.

It's as well their security seal system is totally* impregnable.

Mmm... yeah, that looks about right.

More or less.

Fantastic choice of tagline from Starline:

'Attractive solution'.

Not high quality.

Not long-lasting.

Not precision engineered.

Just an attractive solution.

Well, if it stops the front end from banging for a while, then it'll do the job...

Son has COVID so we've been told to self-isolate until an Omicron test kit arrives in the post.

Class.

Might wash the cars tomorrow.

Ooosh, fingers crossed it’s more negative than a EuroNCAP review of a Renault Zoe

Is there a special test for Omicron then? I didn't know that

MrsH and I are negative, thankfully, but either way, with ten days left until baby No.2 is due, it's all come at the wrong time

@Talbot, I think you need to step your death-mower game up.

@Six-cylinder @Mrs6C With the green Range Rover gone there must be a space in the field for another nugget of Green-Oval shite 😉

Could you show a bit more at the top of the photo please, for Advertisement purposes.

My brother in law left his camper at a "specialist" for a quote. For patches on the top of both sills inside the cab doors and a patch on the valance he wants €1600. Looks like it's coming here once the holidays are over.

No, a 1990 Ducati.

I was thinking vw scene tax ( having had a lengthy discussion about it when I had the x1/9 motd last month with a vw guy).

FAKE NEWS

Oh, and SLR? Is it named after a Belgian assault rifle in British service or is the geek part of my brain riffing in this respect?

Now one of the daftest bits of car design in history means that if you have a Mini Cooper S with factory navigation it doesn't have a temperature gauge, just an idiot light.

No Bini has a temp gauge, idiot light is all any of them have.

You are mistaken.

Most early ones had a temperature gauge in the speedo.  It was only the ones with nav didn't have a temp gauge.

Out with the fam for my mother's birthday last night. I got talking with the fil and he mentioned the scrap man was collecting his '07 300c estate today. It's a 3.0 v6 diesel auto. I told him to cancel and I'll have it (the mental fucker).  The mot runs out today and it needs a battery. It's also been done up like a bentley with all the badges, grille etc.

At £280 it could be the bargain of the year.

Absolutely. I do like the look of those, the way they sit on the road.

Mate helped me out by dropping off some fresh gas so I can continue to weld the BX in isolation. Top boy.

Wax stat removed from the K11 yesterday as it decided like they all do to turn on cold idle when warm, resulting in the lovely behaviour of 1,500 rpm when the CVT disengages, which catches the CVT and makes the car pull ahead.

What confuses me is when it's removed the car defaults to the idle control valve and works just fine without the wax stat, which begs the question what the fuck is the point of the thing if all it does is fail?

Improved warmup in very cold weather I assume. As it works fine without it, I doubt there's any point in replacing it. I can't say I've ever heard my car go to fast idle at all- it's always at ~850RMP whatever the weather... perhaps they did away with it.

If your TB unit has the green spring on the side then it's got a wax stat.  Two phillips screws and it pings off.

Here is a guide I used.

Funnily enough I was playing around with the engine today replacing the fuel filter. The spring was gold.

I got a timely reminder not to drive like a twat this evening. Was showing off the 850 and lost traction in the wet on a long sweeping bend. I caught* it at least.

*I don't think I had any input really, I think the car just rescued itself. Either that or I'm better at regaining control than I thought.

Picked up a B205 turbo lump 160 miles away in my saab. I had visions of strapping it upright all nice but the reality came down to just tossing it in.
